INTRODUCTION
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC) conducts Computerized Common
Admission Test (C-CAT) twice a year for admission into PG Diploma courses. The entrance
examination is conducted in January for the March batch and in June for the August batch.
Application forms are released separately for both the batch. The exam is conducted in online
mode for admission into various PG Diploma courses of various CDAC training centres. It may
be noted that candidates must check the eligibility criteria for admission before proceeding for
C-CAT registration and admission into PG Diploma courses. Online application forms are
released which the candidates have to fill and appear in the online exam. Then the result is
declared in the form of rank cards which is followed by the process of counselling and allocation
of seats. Almost 5220 seats are offered at the CDAC training centres for admission into 24 week

IMPORTANT DATES
The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing announces the important dates for a
session while releasing an official notification. The dates include a complete schedule starting
with applications and wrapping up with the commencement of classes for PG Diploma courses.
The dates are released separately for June as well as December exam.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
There is a specific eligibility criteria for all PG Diploma courses which the candidates have to
comply with. It may be noted that candidates who are not eligible as per the rules can be
declared ineligible at any stage regardless of having qualified the entrance exam. Thus, it is the
duty of candidates to ensure their eligibility. The CDAC C-CAT eligibility criteria has been dealt

APPLICATION FORM
As CDAC C-CAT exam is conducted twice a year, the registration process also takes place
twice a year. Aspirants have to fill the CDAC C-CAT application form within the specified dates.
The steps involved in the CDAC C-CAT application form are as follows:

1. Visit the official website of CDAC- cdac.in

2. CDAC C-CAT Registration- In this step, candidates have to provide certain basic details.
The steps will lead to formation of application number and password which is used in further

ADMIT CARD
The CDAC C-CAT admit card is released in online mode only. Candidates who successfully fill
their application forms are issued admit cards. To download CDAC C-CAT admit cards
candidates have to visit the official website cdac.in. Candidates have to follow a series of steps
as provided below for downloading CDAC C-CAT admit card:

1. Visit the official website of CDAC at cdac.in.

2. Click on the link to ‘Candidate login’.
3. Now enter your form number and password (generated at the time of filling the CDAC C-CAT
application form.

RESULT
The Centre for Diploma in Advanced Computing declares the C-CAT result in online mode
wherein candidates are required to login using their application form number and password.
Candidates receive their result in the form of a rank card which reflects the marks obtained in
each section which the candidate appeared during the exam. Given below are the steps to be
followed for accessing the C-CAT result:

1. Visit official website of CDAC C-CAT at cdac.in

2. Enter application form number and password and click on ‘Log in’.
3. Click on the result icon.

COUNSELLING & SEAT ALLOCATION
The CDAC conduct counselling after declaration of results for candidates who qualify the C-CAT
exam. The process includes selection of training centre and then announcement of list
candidates who are allocated with seats. Usually two rounds of counselling and three rounds of
seat allocation conducted. Candidates have to pay the admission fee so as to lock their seat
and ensure admission into selected PG Diploma course.
