Direction: Write a straight accident news story based on the following facts:
***A Pampanga-bound bus turned turtle on McArthur Highway fronting the Malolos
Capitol Building.
***The bodies of the victims were taken to the Santos Funeral Parlor in Malolos, Bulacan.
*** Some of the fatalities were identified as Jose Reyes, 24; Erlinda Nugi,18; Teresita
Co,45;Feliciano Uy, 17 and Maria Morelos, 12. They were identified by Region 3 Constabulary
Highway Patrol based in Angeles City.
***Fifteen passengers were injured and five were killed.
***The accident happened at 5 p.m., Saturday, August 25.
***The ill-fated bus was racing with another vehicle at high speed when the driver Roman Garcia tried
to avoid running over a carabao that suddenly crossed the street.
***The bus with Plate No. XM-086belongs to the Philippine Deer Bus Company

***Chua Lee was in a department store at the corner of Lepanto and Legarda Sts. when
his wife in their bedroom at the second floor screamed, “Fire!”
***Lee rushed out but was met by a thick smoke which almost suffocated him.
***Seeing the ceiling on fire, he rushed for help, but the fire ate up his store including
Lucio Gan Bakery, Bataan Theater, Del Rio Hardware Store, and the M. Hizon
Pawnshop.
***Total damage was estimated at one million pesos.
***Lee’s wife, Julia, 45, and their two-year-old son, Benito were burned to death. Lee
and two neighbors, Jose Castro, 22 and Juan Galang, 34, both helpers at the Gan
Bakery were injured in their attempt to save Lee’s family. They were rushed
to the Sto. Thomas Hospital for treatment of first degree burns.
***The fire was put out 25 minutes after it started because of low water pressure.
