11. A is accused of harassing his wife on account to dowry and finally killing her.
A’s wife was killed within three years of their marriage. The prosecution is not
able to produce any evidence. How can the facts be proved in this case?

11. X Obtained divorce in USA on a ground which is not recognized as ground of divorce in
India. On his return X got married to Y. His former wife, Z sued him on the ground of
bigamy. X sought recognition of divorce decree he obtained from USA-Decide.
12. X’s immovable property is situated in India. X died domiciled in state A. His wife and
children predeceased him X has a brother Y, living in India, the only surviving relative of X.
According to law state A, if the deceased is not survived by wife or children the property will
pass on to the state. Therefore, state A has claimed X,s property. Y resisted such proceeding.-
decide.
13. X, an MNC headquartered in state A has entered into a company Y, located in state B. The
contract was written in the language of English and also language employed in state B. The
agreement was concluded and got registered instate B. The consideration for the contract is
agreed to by payable in the currency of B. The contract contained a specific clause that in the
case of any dispute concerning the formal validity of contract the same must be resolved in
accordance with the law of state A. A dispute arose between X and Y regarding the delay of
delivery of goods. X sued Y in state X. Y contented that the dispute be resolved only in
accordance with the law of B according to which delay per se will not be considered as legal
injury unless there is substantial loss whereas delay per se will be legal injury according to
law of X.-Decide.
14. A got property in states X and India. B sued A in state X on the ground that the said properties
belong to him (B). Notices were served upon A to appear before the Court. While A was
preparing to appear before the court B informed him that he has withdrawn his case without
actually doing so. So A abstained from appearing before the court. Meanwhile B prepared
forged documents showing recovery of property situated in state Y on the basis of judgment
obtained in state X; B contested the recognition of the judgment.

11. Sindhu is the wife of Vasu. Sindhu’s father promised Vasu to give one lakh
rupees for buying a bike. But due to ill health, Sindhu’s father lost his business
and also earinings. Vasu is harassing Sindhu for payment of the amount
promised by her father. Advice Sindhu.
12. Krishna is the boss of Shanti. Shanti asked Krishna to sanction five lakhs loan
for construction of her house. Krishna demanded her to fulfill his sexual desires.
Advice Shanti.
13. “X” State passed an enactment to prohibit Women to contest Panchayat
elections. A women’s Organization wants to challenge its validity. Advice the
Organization.
14. A police officer commits rape on a woman who comes to the police station for
lodging a complaint. The police officer threatens her not to file the complaint
him otherwise he may kill her husband. Discuss the protection available to the
women under the law.
