DESCRIBE THE CONCEPT OF SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT WITH THE

HELP OF EXAMPLES

The technique of coordinating the many activities required to create and

distribute goods and services to a company's clients is known as supply chain
management. Designing, farming, manufacturing, packaging, and transportation
are all examples of supply chain activity.
A supply chain is a network of retailers, distributors, transporters, storage
facilities, and suppliers who participate in the manufacturing, delivery, and sale of
a product. It describes the procedures and organization involved in converting
and delivering items from manufacturers to consumers.
Upstream activities are those that occur close to the raw material stage, while
downstream activities occur between the maker and the end customer. These
downstream operations are addressed by marketing distribution. A typical supply
chain is made up of numerous organizations working together to differentiate
themselves from the competitors.

EXAMPLE
The finding and extraction of raw materials is the first step in the generic supply
chain. A logistics provider subsequently transports the raw goods to a supplier,
who serves as the wholesaler. The materials are delivered to a manufacturer, or
more likely a number of manufacturers, who refine and process them into a final
product.
Following that, it is delivered to a distributor, who wholesales the finished
product, which is then supplied to a shop. The merchant offers the product to
customers in a store. When the buyer buys it, the cycle is complete, but the
demand then drives the manufacture of more raw materials, and the cycle
continues.
