• Why do you want to study in the UK?

I want to study in the UK because UK has top ranked universities which provide quality
education and the UK degrees are worldwide recognized. Also UK has always been considered
as a global hub for business and economic studies. Moreover the cost of living and tuition
 fees in UK is reasonable. Apart from this UK has unique and multicultural environment where
I will meet the students from different countries which will help me to gain an international
exposure. Other than that, the time difference between UK and india is only around 5 hours
so I can easily communicate with my family in india.

• What are the benefits of studying in the UK compared to your home

country?
Though india has world class education institutes such as IIM’S and IIT’S which can really
compete with the world, but these are still miles behind in providing better education to
undergraduates, as Indian education system is not updated as compared to the UK.
Moreover, one of the core reasons is that I have not selected my home country because the
education system in india focuses more on theory than practical. Here education system
doesn’t allow to be creative, whereas in the UK and other countries, they emphasize more on
practical based learning and allow creativity in education. The cultural diversity of life in the
UK gives me the chance to experience a multicultural environment, meet fellow international
students and develop a range of desirable skills that are necessary to be part of today’s global
workforce. The personal and professional development of the students studying in Indian
universities will be low as compared to the students studying in the UK. Also UK provide
multiple intakes but india provides single intake. So, these are the benefits of studying in the
UK compared to home country.

• Why have you selected this university?

I choose De-Montfort university because DMU achieved Gold - the highest possible standard - in

teaching quality in UK higher education (Office for Students, 2017). This university
has specialized faculties for all types of streams such as Faculty of Art, Design and Humanities,

Which other universities did you consider?

Yes I have searched 2-3 universities such as university of Hertfordshire and university for the
greenwich but I chose De-Montfort university over these universities because this university ‘s
tuition fee is affordable than other two universities as at my university it is around 11,195.00 GBP
and in university for the hertsfordshire and at university of greenwich it is around 14,000 GBP
which is quite high. Moreover the professors at my university are more experienced and
remarkable in research work than other two universities. also my university uses latest
techniques to teach like online resources like canvas which offers a wealth of learning and
teaching resources, multimedia material, discussion boards, video conferencing facilities which
are far better than other universities. Also some of the course modules which I want to study are
not provided by other two universities. De-Montfort universities provides a lot of amenities to
international students such as on campus accommodation,24 hour security in the
accommodation area, high tech labs ,quality education, sports facility which are not provided by
other two universities. So that’s why I chose this university for my higher studies

students coming to the UK for higher education and the applicant must be atleast 16 years

education are associated with a range of positive outcomes including better health and
wellbeing, higher social trust, greater political interest, lower political cynicism, and less
hostile towards immigrants.
