REFLECTION PAPER
Teacher as a Profession
A profession is an admirable thing that we can have because it is a type of work that you
can not have just by the blink of your eyes. To have a profession you need to work hard and
undergo different training to have a skill and high level of education. And for me one type of
profession is being a teacher because teaching can not be done just by knowing some
information or knowledge. Though yes everyone can teach other people about a certain lesson
but not anyone can be a teacher. It is because to be a teacher you need to undergo years of
studying, researching, and training just to teach the students and to inspire them to be a better
person. Also, to be a teacher you need to graduate of course, a bachelor's degree and to pass the
licensure examination for teachers. Those things that need to be done by every student that wants
to be a teacher can also be the reason why a teacher is a profession. We can not hide the fact that
a teacher is one of the reason or the root of other profession such as engineer, architect, doctor
and many more. A person cannot be an engineer with a teacher and the same with any other
profession. If an engineer or a doctor is a profession of course the one who shape and guide them
to have their profession which is a teacher is a profession as well. Also, a teacher is a human too
obviously, so a teacher also receive money as their monthly salary for them to buy their basic
needs and wants that was why a teacher is a profession. On the other hand, while thinking about
the roles of a teacher, I think it goes beyond a profession. It is because one of the reasons why a
person chose to be a teacher is not because of the salary but because of the fulfillment and joy
that they might have when they are sharing knowledge with their students. A teacher not just
teach their students because they can influence them to be a better person of their selves to be a
good citizen and human being of our country. Those reason that I have state are the reason why I
am one of the students who dream of becoming a teacher someday and again that was why a
teacher is a profession.
