Trust the Lord with All your Heart

Last April 1, 2022, Fr. Jerry Orbos held the mass on the first Friday of the month. Through his
homily, he mentioned first that we should always think positive and not worry about the
circumstances that could occur in the upcoming months because If we were to take a look at the
unfortunate events we would bring negativity in life, and that is something that we want to avoid;
that’s why we should always think about the good things that can happen since our faith would
tell us that to look beyond because God is always guiding us and protecting us. These events in
life are the strategy of God, the art of God. Everything is planned by God. Furthermore, he also
mentioned that to have a peaceful life, we have to remember the 4 P’s which are (1) Let God be
present in your life, (2) We should rely on the power of God and not on your power, (3) Rely on
the providence of God, (4) Rely on the promises of God who is always with us since he never
abandons us.

Based on my understanding, the dimension of faith that Fr. Orbos emphasizes is the Fiducial
Approach; Faith as Personal Trust, since all the 4 P's talked about putting all our trust in the
Lord Almighty God because everything is possible as long as we believe and surrender
everything to him. According to Fr. Orbos, he stated that we should build trust and relationships
between God and Us since it is good to grow our relationship with him, we should also not
forget that we have a lot more to learn from Him because learning is important to have an open
heart and an open mind and to practice reflection and discernment because right now, we may
think that our beliefs are right when they are actually misguided by our personal intent. It is hard
to know God’s will if we don’t make an effort to listen to him carefully, so in order for us to
envision his presence and grow our faith and hope towards him we should know that whatever
his plans are for us we have to take note that he always has a beautiful plan ahead, it may not
be today and tomorrow but in the right time, he will give us the life that we truly deserve as long
as we put our trust in him.

To conclude, I believe that not just our hearts, minds, and hands alone that should function but
we should have these three for us to build our personality and character through having the
purpose to give service and commitment not just to our people and society but also to God
because without one of these how could we be able to know ourselves and figure out who we
really are as individuals in this society.
