A case report describes nonsurgical treatment of a pseudomeningocele, or cerebrospinal fluid collection, in a patient following resection of a posterior fossa tumor. The patient presented with headache, nausea, and vomiting due to cerebrospinal fluid leakage through the surgical wound. Conservative treatment involving bed rest, elevation of the head, and application of a lumbar drain was effective and the pseudomeningocele resolved without requiring further surgery. A literature review found that nonsurgical options can successfully treat pseudomeningoceles in select cases.
