Do you want to print something in this pack smaller? You can!

Print it smaller to save ink and save paper.

Be sure you have the latest edition of Adobe Reader and that your
computer is opening this file in Adobe (not your computer’s default
reader or online).

Directions: When you go to print,

• Select the pages you want to print
• Select multiple
• Select what size you want them to be (pages per sheet)

 Fire drills can be scary for younger students. It’s loud and there are
kids everywhere! I hope this helps make fire drills less scary and more
manageable for your students.

At the beginning of the year, I will read this book a few times. This book
tells them what to expect, what a fire drill will look like and sound like,
and that it is NOT real (even if there are firefighters there).

Extra teacher pages: The pages that have a teacher on them have 4
options of teachers! You pick the one that looks closest to you to help
your students relate to the book even more! And yes I have male
teacher options too!

Pages to Use: You pick what pages you want to use. Use all of them or
just some of them. You know your school and your students best.

Fire Drill Routine Poster: There are four fire drill routine posters to
choose from. Three of the posters you can just print and post. The
other you can make so students are able to take the parts of the
routine on and off. ***I put a poster IN the book too! I make it the last
page in the book*** They are great to hang up in your classroom too!

Sending it Home with Students: Every year I have one or a few

students who are scared to death or just freaked out by fire drills. I
make them their OWN book to take home. They can read it at home
with their family too.

Ear Muffs: Yes, ear muffs! Last year I had a friend who physically
shook because she was so terrified of fire drills. I gave her the fire drill
book to read at home but that wasn’t enough. So we tried ear muffs,
her mom’s amazing idea! She kept her ear muffs in her cubbie just for
fire drills. Good news! By the end of the year she was not terrified,
didn’t shake, but they were still not her favorite thing.
