Education & Mental Health

Are schools aware of the mental health of students?

Most students don’t feel comfortable speaking with their teachers about their mental health and the
emotions during school periods. Usually because they feel uncomfortable and judged by the opinion
of their superiors and don’t feel the confidence knowing they will talk with their parents. Most of
the teachers don’t know how to deal with the students and the students can’t tell this to anyone but
their friends since they are the “adults”. Usually, school psychologists don’t know how to manage
their problems and don’t fulfill their function.
We want to transmit to the teachers and directives how we feel because of the phycological charge
all the works and HomeWorks they put to the students, and we also want them to know that our
mental health is more important than having the best grades.

Essay:
Does the school really consider how we feel?
Nowadays, I believe that many students are not motivated to study because they treat badly, or don
´t know how to teach well, and the students can generate certain insecurities about themselves.
Personally, as students, we believe that improving the convivence between teacher-student is very
important for how students develop in the classroom and the way they open up with strangers.
First, I think that the school needs to teach how to treat the students or know if they are qualified to
teach them since most of the teachers have problems dealing with the students and their mental
health issues. Or students seem forced to be judged by the teachers since they don’t grow up in a
safe environment and feel constantly attacked by public opinions and this leads them to illnesses
such as depression and anxiety.
