MEDICAL REPORT

NAME: YUSRA JUMAH INDUSA

AGE: 18 days old
UHID: 10493684

PRESENTING COMPLAINTS: 1) Difficulty breathing

2) Difficulty feeding

CLINICAL SUMMARY

Yusra was born at term at Maria Immaculata hospital where she was admitted for 2 days, then
transferred to KNH where she stayed for 2 days before being referred to MP Shah Hospital on Day 4 of
life due to respiratory distress, pneumonia and feeding difficulty. She was put on CPAP at admission,
started on IV antibiotics, and has now been weaned to oxygen treatment and recovering from
pneumonia. Yusra is being investigated for difficulty feeding, with chest physiotherapy and GERD
treatment initiated as well

Chest X ray showed features of pneumonia

Feeding study done last week showed aspiration but no signs of a fistula, it’s unclear what is causing the
aspiration of feeds and hence Dr. Patel (ENT Surgeon) will perform a rigid and flexible bronchoscopy to
ascertain the cause and do a repair if possible
