This document assigns pairs of students exposé topics on major inventions throughout history, including the wheel, nail, compass, printing press, internal combustion engine, telephone, light bulb, penicillin, contraceptives, and the internet. For each invention, students are asked to discuss life before the invention, who invented it and if they became rich, what became possible with the invention, the evolution of the discovery, major innovations linked to it, and potential positive and negative outcomes.
