(Doc ID 2781469.1) In this Document Goal ution Oracle Work in Process - Version 12.1.3 and later Information in this document applies to any platform. Serial controlled components not getting allocated by Component Pick Release. How to have them allocated as well ? The serial controlled components are not getting allocated on purpose when the supply type is Push and the Supply subinventory is not populated in the material requirements as long as the material requirement is against a serialized operation. (serialized job) For example, if a job is having 2 operations (10, 20 and 30) and the job's serialization start operation is 20 then and all material requirements defined against operation sequence 20 and 30 cannot be allocated/reserved if they are having Push supply type and the supply subinventory is not present, ‘The reason is that for serialized jobs we cannot perform WIP Issue transactions from Transact Move Orders form. Until the job reaches the serialized starting operation, all transactions are allowed BUT, once the serialized operation is reached, the job can only be transacted from Serialization transaction MES or mobile forms. ‘Transact Move Orders is not a serialized way to perform transactions. A serialized job is linking the assembly serial to the component serial and lot and this is not possible if the WIP Issue is, done from Transact Move Orders form, However, it should be performing the reservations if the supply subinventory is entered in the material requirements form. (it should be a non-reservable subinventory) The transaction type will be backflush transfer (subivnentory transfer) and not WIP Issue anymore but the allocation will work, This way, transacting move order will perform just a subinventory transfer from the reservable inventory to the supply/non-reservable subinventory from where, it can the be issued against the serialized job. WORKAROUND: Set the material requirements to the operations prior to the serialized ones. The job becomes serialized only when the assembly is moved to the serialized starting operation. So, as per example provided earlier, if the material requirements are defined against operation sequence 10, then the reservation will be successful.
