Augment Warehousing and Open Storage in

Preparation of BMP
Presently, the existing refinery has four warehouses A, B, C and D to store the maintenance spares
required for current refinery operations, which are functioning at a full capacity and there is no
adequate space planning available to the requirements post BMP operations. As a strategic effort to
accommodate the synchronization of BMP operations to the existing warehousing facility, this project
aims to provide an extended storage space for the additional operational spare parts (MRO), capital and
insurance spares, and catalyst and chemicals requirements. The implantation plan takes into
consideration the qualified human resource and technological advancement to manage the warehouses
and open storage. Moreover, the existing warehousing capacity needs to be enhanced to meet the post
BMP requirements.

Engineering department have been requested by procurement through BP2062 to review various
possible options for a permanent warehouse to store the spares required post BMP and execute the
selected option. Basis this request, Engineering has initiated CPDEP process (Chevron Project
Development and Execution Process) and completed phase 1 to identify & assess the opportunity. As a
part of CPDEP, various alternatives are being reviewed by the project team and a best possible
alternative will be selected at the end of phase 2. During phase 3, the selected option will be
engineered, and tender will be floated for procurement and construction. The project will be executed
in Phase 4, commissioned and closed out in phase 5. Road Map at end of each phase is circulated up to
the endorser level for approval before proceeding to the next phase.
Currently, CPDEP phase 2 is in finalization stage. The project Framing Document is updated, and the
project boundaries are finalized. As well as the warehousing solution’s alternatives selection is under
process. The Preliminary layout of warehouse is prepared to visualization and the area reservation
location plan was prepared and approved (as part of CPDEP document).
