New Predator Types
Choosing a Predator Type is one of the most
important aspects of character creation in V5. It
sets the tone of your vampire's nightly existence
and relationship with their Beast, it grants you
Disciplines to which you might not otherwise have
access, and it offers new characters and other seeds
for your Storyteller to nourish into plot.
The V5 Core Rulebook offered ten
Predator Types to begin with, and several more
have been released since. Here, we describe 24
completely new Predator Types for you to choose
from during character creation. Each new Predator
Type offers a unique combination of Disciplines
and a flavorful array of skill specialties and
Advantages. They are particularly helpful to the
Storyteller, for whom reusing the same dozen
Predator Types in non­player characters can get a
little repetitive.
As with all Predator Types, choosing one
of the styles given here does not force you to feed
only in that manner. Unless the Predator Type
imposes a Flaw that restricts feeding, you are free
to feed in other ways without consequence,
allowing you to adapt to the resources available on
any given night.
Ambulance Chaser
Humans shed blood all the time ­ in car accidents,
drive­by shootings, domestic stabbings, and any of
a myriad of weirder and rarer circumstances. You
wait for these moments of bloody serendipity,  meetup. Sure, he might be a predator ­ but
pouncing on the victims to lick up the blood that
flows from their wounds before the other first
responders can arrive. Perhaps you even turn into
an animal ­ a stray dog, a crow, or maybe even a
vulture ­ to make the feeding less remarkable.
Maybe it's a little cold­blooded of you to take
advantage of people already in a bad state, but hey,
you weren't the one to hurt them. Maybe you even
administer first aid once you've drunk your fill! In
life, you might have been an adrenaline junky, a
first­responder, or a true crime enthusiast.

• Spend three dots between Influence,
Contacts, and Allies (•••)
• Gain the Obvious Predator Flaw (••)
• Hunting Pools: Manipulation + Medicine
or Wits + Larceny. Once you've found a site
with wounded mortals, either disguise your
collection of blood samples as medically
necessary or lap up the blood when no
one's looking.
Blood Baby
You don't have to bother with finding ways to slake
your hunger ­ an older and more powerful vampire
takes care of that for you. Your Mawla lets you
feed from their Herd, caters mortals for your
nightly sustenance, or allows you to access their
stockpile of bagged blood. Add your Mawla to the
relationship map. The Storyteller will make sure
your Mawla has Merits that allow them to provide
you with blood regularly. You might have been a
child when you were Embraced, or you might have
been a trust fund baby, an orphan, or an artist.

Technology (Catfishing)
• Gain one dot of Presence or Dominate
• Gain the Mawla Merit (••)
• Gain the Disliked Flaw (•) Some Kindred
look down on you for being unable or
unwilling to hunt for yourself.
• Hunting Pools: Manipulation + Persuasion
or Charisma + Technology. Call up your
Mawla and wheedle them into sending you
a snack or ­ when you can't do that ­ catfish
some bozo off the internet for a quick
so are you.
Codependent
Hunting? You don't know her. You feed from a
single mortal exclusively: your partner, parent,
best friend, or trusted servant. This mortal ­ your
blood doll ­ likely accompanies you everywhere, in
case the Hunger should take you. They live in
constant danger of your loss of control over the
Beast, but you treat them well ­ you must, or
they'll decline within a week from pernicious
anemia, and you will be left with no way to sate
your Hunger. Most Kindred with this predator
type are overprotective and attentive to their blood
doll's needs, plying them with orange juice,
cookies, and iron supplements after each feeding,
and protecting them from danger with their own
undead flesh. Your Humanity might suffer if your
blood doll dies, but you can replace them given
time to form a bond with someone new. You could
have come from any background, but you probably
had an unusually strong bond ­ possibly to an
unhealthy degree ­ with the mortal that now
supports you as your blood doll.

• Gain the Feeding Flaw: Dependent (••)
• Hunting Pools: Charisma + Etiquette or
Intelligence + Medicine. There's little
chance of being unable to feed on your
dedicated blood doll, but you need to keep
them healthy and happy by treating them
respectfully and tending to them medically
after feeding.  that sees your feeding activities as
Condiment King
You don't just drink blood ­ you eat it. You prefer
to take your meals by mixing blood with mortal
food. Maybe you just dip your French fries in a
side of A­positive, or maybe you prepare fine
meals laced throughout with raw blood chosen
meticulously for its resonance and antigenicity.
Either way, you use only the freshest of
ingredients; the blood you consume must still be
fresh when it is applied to your solid meals (unless
you gained the Iron Gullet Merit separately). In
life, you might have been a chef, a foodie, a college
student, or a stay­at­home parent.

• Gain the Mythic Merit: Eat Food (••)
• Gain the Mythic Flaw: Folkloric Block
(Garlic) (•)
• Hunting Pools: Wits + Craft or
Manipulation + Etiquette. Gain access to
fresh blood (usually animal blood) under
the cover of preparing a fine meal or
beguile a mortal at a high society dinner
with your excellent table manners ­ and use
their blood as a condiment for the leftovers.
Contractor
Like the silver­tongued devil himself, you
specialize in beguiling or ensnaring victims into
contractual agreements for their blood. You seek
out the vulnerable to make your offers: promising
the disabled an easy way to make a living, the
terminally ill a way to extend their life, the
depressed a convenient means of simplifying their
responsibilities. Perhaps you even trick yourself
into believing that your freely­entered contracts
make your feeding moral, consensual ­ you and
your vessels just try not to think about the
impossibility of your prosecution if you ever did
violate the terms of the agreement. In life, you
might have been an attorney, a salesperson, a drug
lord, or a corporate hiring manager.

Streetwise (Bribes)
• Gain one dot of Auspex or Presence
• Gain three dots of Herd (•••) (they are
Blood Bonded to you if you choose to make
that a term of their contracts)
• Gain the Adversary Flaw (••) (a Kindred
exploitation or Masquerade breach)
• Hunting Pools: Intelligence + Academics
or Resolve + Streetwise. Weave dizzying
legal jargon around your prey until they
sign their blood away to you or make a
binding handshake deal with someone off
the street too scared by your eating habits
and enamored of your money to squeal.
Delivery Diner
Modern nights bring modern solutions to the
ancient demands of the Beast. You prefer to feed
under the cover of delivery ­ you order takeout
and take a few pints out of the driver as an extra
on the ticket, or you are the driver, feeding on poor
mortals ordering sad Chinese for one. You might
have been a delivery driver in life, a hustler, or
nearly any other kind of person.

Drive (Trucks)
• Gain one dot of Dominate or Obfuscate
• Gain a dot of Haven or Resources (•)
• Hunting Pools: Intelligence + Technology
or Wits + Drive. Use an "app," as the
youth call them, to order a delivery driver
sent straight to your home or park your
work vehicle strategically to obscure view
while you feed on the recipients of your
deliveries.
Incarcerator
You kidnap and imprison your victims in your
Haven, to feed on over the course of months or
even years. If you're smart, you are careful to fake
their deaths, allaying suspicions and diverting law
enforcement. Many incarcerators prefer to
imprison those who they feel deserve this fate:
violent criminals, abusive parents, human
traffickers, police officers, etc. In life, you might
have suffered at the hands of the type of mortal
you now target for kidnapping, or you could have
been law enforcement or military.

Larceny (Falsifying Crime Scenes)
• Gain one dot of Potence or Oblivion
• Gain a two­dot Haven (••)
• Gain one dot of the Haven: Cells Merit(•)
• Gain two dots of the Enemies Flaw (••)
(escaped victims or law enforcement on the
case)
• Hunting Pools: Dexterity + Brawl or
Intelligence + Larceny. Snatch someone off
the streets and spirit them into a cell in
your haven or undertake meticulous
falsification of an easy kidnappee's
abduction site, faking a death that leaves no
body.
Intermittent Faster
You're not too picky about where your blood
comes from; you just try to drink as little as
possible. You fast for long stretches between meals,
trying to limit the burden you impose on the
world's mortals. Some Kindred with this predator
type seek enlightenment through pursuit of
Golconda, while others may hold fast to their
mortal faith and its moral restrictions.

Flaw (••)
• Gain a dot of Humanity
• Hunting Pools: You sate your Hunger
opportunistically or when the Beast can be
controlled no longer. When you are forced
to hunt, you do so in the easiest way that
comes to mind; use any dice pool you can
justify to your Storyteller.
Maskless
"Hide in plain sight," has always been your motto.
You prefer to feed while being observed by an
audience of hundreds, if not thousands, of rapt
mortals, relying on incredulity to convince them
that you surely cannot actually be drinking human
blood. You star in vampire movies and feed in front
of the camera, perform in a gothic stage show that
features dramatic "blood drinking" that surely must
be faked, or you run a channel for "sanguinarians"
that want to believe you're actually drinking blood
on stream ­ but as a kink, of course, not for basic
sustenance. Perhaps you make it easier for your
audience to rationalize by limiting your on­screen
activities to animal blood. You believe in the
Masquerade ­ really, you do! But you find it so
much more convenient to just allow the mortals to
convince themselves. The Camarilla, and many
other Kindred besides, don't agree with you, but
you have plenty of practice dealing with them. In
life, you might have been an actor, a stage
magician, a social media influencer, or a politician.

Blood) or Politics (Masquerade)

• Spend two dots between the Infamy and

Performance. Stage a show that involves
miming or actually drinking blood.
Opportunist
You feed on those on the fringes of society:
immigrants, the homeless, eccentrics, etc.
Mastering languages helps you to blend in with
diverse or immigrant communities as you hunt for
the gullible, naïve, and lonely. You offer a friendly
ear, an understanding presence, and you take just a
bit of blood in exchange. You might have come
from one of these communities when you were
alive, or you might have been a social worker, a
police officer, or an immigration official.
• Add a specialty: Streetwise (Cast­outs) or
Investigation (Immigrants)
• Gain one dot of Presence of Obfuscate
• Gain the Linguistics Merit (••)
• Gain the No Haven Flaw (•)
• Hunting Pools: Charisma + Streetwise or
Wits + Investigation. Ingratiate yourself
with someone living on the street and lure
 them to a secluded location or track down
an isolated immigrant living alone – no one
to call the cops when a predator appears at
their window.
Parasite
You feed on blood second­ or third­hand, plucking
ticks from bushes, lice from scalps, or mosquitoes
directly from the air. Not the most practical or
dignified of feeding styles, but there are rumors of
powerful Parasites that master swarms of vampire
bats or mosquitoes, casting them out into the night
air to feed and return to their master with blood.
Others simply feel that this disgusting indignity is
what they deserve as monsters leeching off the
blood of others. In life, you might have been an
entomologist, a charity worker, or an abnormal
psychologist.
• Add a specialty: Animal Ken (Swarms) or
Awareness (Blood Suckers)
• Gain one dot of Animalism or Celerity
• Gain a one­dot Mawla (•) (a Kindred who
shares your feeding style or supports you)
• Gain two dots of Retainers (••) (ghouled
animals)
• Gain the Obvious Predator Flaw (••)
• Hunting Pools: Manipulation + Animal
Ken or Dexterity + Awareness. If you have
Feral Whispers, you can use that to
dispatch a swarm of blood­sucking
creatures into the night to feed and return
to regurgitate the blood into your mouth.
If not, spend hours collecting ticks or
mosquitoes, each one a tiny pinprick of
disgusting satiation.
Quiverfull
You prefer to feed on your own childer rather than
on mortals. You have given the Embrace freely,
siring a coven of childer like a brood of children.
This family you have created serves as proxy for
your own feeding; your childer drain blood from
the wider world and make it available to you from
their veins. Some 13th generation Nosferatu or
Hecata have been known to Embrace a brood of
thin­bloods, free of the curse of their sire's clan,
using them to funnel blood into the sire's hideous
or deadly maw. If the Embrace is regulated in your
domain, you must either take the Infamy flaw for
having created so many illegal childer, or you must
have an explanation for why your large brood is
permitted. In life, you might have followed a
conservative faith or been a cult leader, a vampire
fanatic, or someone with a large found family.

• Gain one dot of Presence or Oblivion
• Lose one dot of Humanity
• Gain the Bond Resistance Merit (•••)
• Gain three 2­dot Mawla groups (••••••)
(your neonate childer)
• Gain the Living In the Past or Infamy
Flaw (•)
• Hunting Pools: Manipulation + Leadership
or Charisma + Academics. Appeal to your
childer's devotion to you or to the twisted
faith you've instilled in them to donate their
vitae for your Hunger. Increase the
Difficulty by your Bane Severity if you're
Hecata ­ that shit hurts.
Recycler
Your feeding habits are shaped by your rare
condition as an organovore. You eat human organs,
often sourced from bagged medical waste or from
corpses you dissect under cover as a mortician or
autopsy technician. These are resources that
mortals would fix with environmentally­harmful
chemicals or simply discard, so you believe that
you are doing the world a service by giving these
cast­off pieces of human life a new purpose. The
curse of the organovore strikes indiscriminately ­
at least as far as most Kindred can determine ­ so
almost anyone could develop this predator type.

Subterfuge (Impersonation)
• Gain one dot of Protean or Oblivion
• Spend three dots between Contacts and

• Gain the Feeding Flaw: Organovore (••)
• Hunting Pools: Resolve + Science or

forensic examination and devour the

tech authorized to dispose of a hospital's
medical waste.
Regulator
The blood is everything, but for you, it is emotion
most especially. You know how to attune your body
and mind to the resonance that you consume from
a vessel, regulating your own emotions with the
echoes of mortal feeling that you imbibe. Mortals

The Second Inquisition, Pentex, or another shady

They grant you more freedom than the butterfly,
but you're probably not convinced they don't plan
to stake you to a table someday. Your research
"partners" provide you with blood and money in
exchange for your willing participation in their
experiments. It's possible that you entered into this
relationship willingly ­ perhaps your sponsors even
have your best interests at heart, or caused your
Embrace during a previous experiment ­ but it's
also possible that you were blackmailed into the
relationship. Either way, you walk a delicate
balance between keeping your blood suppliers
happy and concealing the massive breach of the
Masquerade you perpetuate each night. In life, you
might have been a scientist, a psychologist, a
nurse, or a college student.

Spider
You prefer to feed by drawing mortals into your
web... and perhaps only sometimes allowing them
to leave. You own a hotel, a theatre, a club, a
brothel, a bar, or any of a hundred other types of
establishment designed to entice patrons to linger
within. Some Spiders toy with their meals before
dining, cultivating an exquisite experience for
their final moments, while others maintain a façade
of severe authority over their domain designed to
instill a subtle unease among their guests. In life,
you might have been a hotelier, a bartender, a stage
manager, or a Madame.

Intimidation (Authority)

Stalker
A vampire is either predator or a parasite, and you
most definitely prefer to be a predator. You hunt
your victims, human or not, stalking them through
midnight streets or moonlit glades until the
perfect moment to strike arrives. You savor the
pursuit, drawing it out until the Beast demands
that you wait no longer. As a mortal, you might
have been a big­game hunter, an investigative
journalist, or a detective.
• Add a specialty: Craft (Traps) or Survival
(Tracking)
• Gain one dot of Animalism or Obfuscate
• Gain one dot of Contacts (•)
• Hunting Pools: Intelligence + Craft or
Wits + Survival. Set a trap to catch your
prey or track them by spoor, prints, and
scent.
Tampon Sucker
There are millions of mortals in the world that
spend over 10% of their lives bleeding freely. To
your mind, this is a sadly untapped resource – one
you have adapted to use. You rifle through the
trash of public bathrooms to find used menstrual
products from which you can suck dregs of blood
like syrup from a lollipop. As distasteful as some
might consider your diet, you can find sources of
food with ease and impunity; bathrooms are mostly
free of cameras and usually remain deserted in the
deep night you haunt. In life, you might have been
homeless, a freegan, or a radical feminist.

Survival (Urban)

• Gain the Iron Gullet Merit (•••) or three
dots of Herd (•••)
• Gain the Shunned Flaw (••) There are
those Kindred who respond with a visceral
disgust to your menstrual diet.

 Dexterity + Survival. Smell nearby
menstruation or the telltale perfume of a
lavatory with a tampon disposal bucket, or
navigate to the closest such buffet with
nothing but your knowledge of urban
planning and a bit of deft window
climbing.
Therapist
You feed on those with mental illnesses,
particularly suicidality. Maybe you genuinely think
that a sweet, painless death is the best gift you can
give to these people, maybe you get a sick joy from
exploiting their pain, or maybe you just like feeling
completely sated. Some Therapists choose not to
kill their victims, instead using their Kiss to give
them a moment of bliss while they use their words
to encourage them to get them through the next
week ­ and to the Therapist's next meal. If you do
kill your victims, you take pains to make their
deaths look like true suicides, and if you're actually
kindhearted you could even carry out their last
wishes like some sanguine angel of death. In life,
you might have experienced suicidality yourself or
worked as a mental health professional.

• Hunting Pools: Manipulation + Insight or
Charisma + Academics. Play the role of
sympathetic ear to a troubled victim and
finish the vent­sesh with a soothing snack
or arrange an impromptu meeting with
one of your more vulnerable clients.
Warden
You feed on those most powerless to resist you:
prisoners of the law, infirmity, or their own minds.
You've cultivated a flawless cover as a police officer,
prison warden, or nurse that allows you to feed on
a captive population with impunity. You might
have held this position in life, or you might have
been an inmate yourself, taking the advantage your
undeath affords you to get revenge on old enemies.
• Add a specialty: Melee (Mortals) or
Politics (Regulations)
• Gain one dot of Potence or Obfuscate
• Gain one dot of Contacts or Influence (•)
• Gain two dots of Enemies (••) (former
inmates on whom you once fed, or their
relatives)
• Hunting Pools: Strength + Melee or
Manipulation + Politics. Feed under the
guise of beating down the most likely
prisoner or twist institutional politics to
look the other way as you enter and exit
your meal's room.
Xenophile
Changelings, werewolves, mages… these are all
dangerous and evasive prey for vampires of all but
the greatest age and most potent vitae. And yet,
you have developed a taste for their halcyon blood.
When you can, you feed on the blood of other
supernatural creatures in any way that presents
itself, earning yourself both allies and enemies. In
life, you might have been one of the lupine kinfolk,
a minor mage, friend to a changeling, or a fantasy
nerd.
• Add a specialty: Occult (Lupines) or
(Changelings) or (Mages), or Insight (True
Nature)
• Gain one dot of Foritude or Protean
• Gain a four dot Ally (••••) (a supernatural
you help who doesn't mind if you feed on
their enemies)
• Gain a two dot Adversary (••) (a
supernatural who escaped you)
• Gain the Feeding Flaw: Methuselah's
Thirst (•)
• Hunting Pools: Intelligence + Occult or
Wits + Insight. Hunting supernaturals will
always be difficult, but combing through
the occult community or staying alert to
those around you that might have an
unusual nature finds you plenty of likely
victims, even if most of your hunts end
without bringing down a lupine, mage, or
changeling.
New Merits and Flaws
Some of the Predator Types described above
reference new Merits and Flaws. Those are
presented here for your use. They can be taken at
character creation like any other Merits and Flaws,
but the Predator Type in which they are first
mentioned is where they feature most prominently.

Reanimated Emotions (Merit)

You are especially attuned to the resonance in your
vitae. Your Frenzy checks are altered depending
on your current resonance:
• Choleric. You gain a 2­dice bonus to
Hunger Frenzy checks, but suffer a 1­die
penalty to Fury Frenzy checks.
• Melancholic. You gain a 2­dice bonus to
Fury Frenzy checks, but suffer a 1­die
penalty to Terror Frenzy checks.
• Phlegmatic. You gain a 1­die bonus to all
Frenzy checks, but suffer a 1­die penalty to
Social tests that do not use Composure.
• Sanguine. You gain a 2­dice bonus to
Terror Frenzy checks, but suffer a 1­die
penalty to Hunger Frenzy checks.

Dependent (Flaw)
You rely on a single mortal for all your blood. If
you feed on any mortal other than your chosen
blood doll, you take a Stain. If your blood doll dies
from something other than your Embrace, you
take two additional Stains. While you do not have
a blood doll, you do not take stains for feeding
from other mortals.

Intermittent Fasting (Flaw)

You strive to feed no more than once per night so
as to limit the burden you impose on the world. If
you feed more than once on a given night, you take
a Stain.

Light Stomach (Flaw)

Your undead body has become accustomed to the
lightest of meals and cannot abide gluttonous
slurping. If you slake more than one Hunger per
scene, your body vomits it up, causing you to make
Rouse Checks equal to the amount of Hunger you
slaked in the scene. You can spend a point of
Willpower to delay this violent expulsion by one
turn per Willpower, but it is ultimately inevitable.
