GENERAL DESCRIPTION
1- Tank usage
Cream storage tank is used for storage of cream after separation and cooling down in plate heat
exchanger to 4°C - 6 °C.
The following chart summarizes volumes of cream tanks according to plant standard sizes:

Cream Storage
Tank will be provided with a vertical agitator and double jacket for chilled water to maintain
temperature during all storage time and homogeneity of cream % fat.
Agitation will always be active when chilled water is running in order to avoid crystallization of
cream in the tanks walls.
Cream should be maintained in between 4°C and 6°C. For this interval of temperatures agitation
will be sequenced (1 min of agitation every 15 min).
If cream temperature is below 4°C, water will not run and it will be sequenced agitation of 1 min
every 15 minutes OFF in order to keep homogeneity of cream.
Cream storage tank of 25 000 L will be placed outside. Cream tank of 10 000 L can be placed
inside or outside.
Tank design is prepared to atmospheric conditions as detailed in point 2 of Design &
Operation parameters chapter. For extreme weather conditions such as long period of
time at temperatures below -35°C, it will be necessary to evaluate inside location or
heating design additional to avoid frozen cream.
STANDARD MODULE RESTRICTED CIRCULATION
Standard Module for Cream Storage Tank for 10 000 liters and 25 000 liters includes the following
documents:
Test protocol applicable for Cream Storage tank are the following documents (separate
from Standard Module):
o ENG-TO-ENG-001: FAT Protocol for Standards process skids. APPENDIX 04 Tank
General Evaluation
o ENG-TO-ENG-003: Site Acceptance Test: Process Tank
3- Options to design
Option 1: Seismic tank for areas that requires. Basic design will be non seismic only
good for non seismic zones.

PROJECT APPLICATION
Confidentiality Agreement and Authorization of Use documents must be signed with tanks
manufactures and process integrators suppliers before any distribution of this specification and
documents associated.
3D drawings are not considered as “Manufacturing Plan”, they have to be used as a detailed
specification. Tank manufacture has to draw “Manufacturing plan” or construction plans for tank
construction.

A1 - TRACEABILITY
Traceability
In order to reduce the risks of errors, the following minimal traceability is required:
A2 - QUALITY – CHECKING
Roughness Test (welding and polishing surfaces) : Ra (µm)
The roughness instrument must be gauged less than one year (with certificate),
The Ra plate of checking must be checked less than one year,
Before each use, for each tank or once per day, to make a test and to print the result.
