GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The overall aims of the project are:


 To communicate effectively and appropriately in real life
situation:
 To use English effectively for study purpose across the
curriculum;
 To develop interest in and appreciation of literature;
 To develop and integrate the use of the four language
skills i.e. Reading, listening, speaking and writing;
 To revise and reinforce the structure of the language
already learnt.
 To engage language proficiency and productivity in the
collaborative process.
 To build intellectual and aesthetic understanding of the
craft and technique of theatre arts.
 To develop an appreciation of and respect for the various
roles/aspects inherent within the theatrical process.
 The ability to speak intelligibly and to use appropriate
word stress, sentence stress and elementary intonation
patterns;
 To speak intelligibly while making statements, asking
question, giving instructions and commands, reporting
events.
 To put ideas in proper sequence and to complete
accurately and fluently semi controlled compositions like
stories, events, processes, Scenes, etc.
 During the project, we are able to write an original,
dialogue, story as one-act play.
SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

 It helps to analyze how particular lines of dialogue or


incidents in a story or drama propel the action, reveal
aspects of a character, or provoke a decision
 It offers ways to practice reading, writing, speaking and
listening in authentic contexts and provides students
with the need to communicate effectively.
 To understand main ideas and details in different kinds
of dramatic scripts.
 To formulate, express and defend individual ideas and
opinions in an improvisation when working on dramatic
productions.
 To manipulate body movements and facial expressions to
convey appropriate emotion and meaning in
dramatizations.
 To develop the ability to express themselves imaginatively
and creatively.
 To participate in pair and group dramatizations on a
variety of topics.
 To speak and perform on a given topic for an extended
period of time.
 It provides opportunity to explore and work with peer
group.
 It develops positive attitude towards group work, sharing
information and learning from each other.
