I hail from Palapye ‘Serorome Ward’. My full names are Kelaotswe
Daniel Orapeleng, born 1993 February. I am a single man with no disability residing full time in Odi, aged 29 years old.
Growing up here in the City from a family of five, my late father, my
mother and two younger siblings. I have always been aware just how important manual work is to the success of everything around me. From a young age I was helping my parents fix whatever needed attention. Whether it was running business errands, gardening or fixing our company cars, nothing escaped my curiosity.
It felt natural to follow ‘Health and Safety’ path through my
education since my father was an ‘Senior Environmental Health Officer’ with Gaborone City Council for over twenty years.
I started my schooling at Lesedi Primary School where I did my
standard 1 up until standard 7. I proceeded to Moselewapula Secondary School of which I did my form 1 until form 3, I later finished my Senior schooling with Interlink Private Tuition. During my years of schooling I observed that success does not only come from academics since my mother had been successful in her business yet she never completed her studies. I gravitated more towards business. I managed to register a company that specialized in Clinical Waste which went on to win Government tenders with CBD High Court of Botswana, Marulamantsi Secondary School, Ocaat School of Arts here in Odi along with Vocational Training Centres in Palapye. My company specialized in the collection of ‘Sanitary Waste’ and the ‘Disinfection of SHE Bins’. I am happy to mention that I completed my duration without any queries from Supplies Officers. I used my funds to further my studies with Kgatleng District Council and NOSA.
Apart from business, I enjoy gardening and landscapes. Art ‘poetry,
potraits and hand crafted waste material’ lastly I enjoy Auto meachanics. I have experience on all the above mentioned.
Before becoming a manager of Sunrise Facilities which is a family
conducted business, I had the opportunity of working every field of our business. From being a driver, a baker, a chef, and a health and safety officer. To this day, I manage Sunrise Facilities which consists of a lodge, conference rooms and a liquor restaurant.
I would love the opportunity of an interview to find out more about
what you require from your District Youth Committee Membership and how I might be able to help.
