According to Abhishek Kumar, 2020 the proposed system is using the Faster Region-based
Convolution Neural Network (F-RCNN), Transfer Learning, and Inception-V2. There are numerous
pothole detection models that combine the accelerometer with machine learning methods (without
using dataset), but fewer pothole detection models exist that employ simply these methods. The
findings of this study demonstrate that our suggested model performs better than other pothole
detecting methods that are currently in use.

2. According to Anas Al-Shaghouri,2010 They examine the pothole detection results of multiple real-
time deep learning algorithms, including YOLOv4-CSPDarknet53, YOLOv3-Darknet53, and SSD-
TensorFlow. High precision of 85%, mean Average Precision of 85.39% and high recall of 81%,were
attained using YOLOv4 (mAP). At an image resolution of 832*832, the YOLOv4 processing speed is
measured at 20 frames per second (FPS).Additionally, they suggested the technique that potholes are
found at hundred meter distance. The results showed better performance in real-time when compared
to other cutting-edge techniques.

3. According to Muhammad Haroon Asad, 2022 Says the experiment is run using real-time video
recorded through a moving car, a collection of images with potholes in various road conditions, and
lighting fluctuations. On the picture collection, YOLOv5, YOLOv4 and Tiny-YOLOv4 exhibit the greatest
mean average precision (mAP) of 85.48%, 95%, and 80.04%, demonstrating the effectiveness of the
suggested technique for pothole identification and implemented on OAK-D for real-time detection. With
90% detection accuracy and 31.76 FPS, the study supported Tiny-YOLOv4 as the best model for real-time
pothole identification.

4. According to Aparna, 2019 The purpose of their research is to evaluate the accuracy and viability of
thermal imaging in the context of pothole detection. After gathering an appropriate volume of data,
containing pothole photos in different lighting and weather, and applying enhancement convolutional
neural networks approach of deep learning has been used, that uses techniques on the data is a novel
method for solving this issue that makes use of thermal imaging. Additionally, a comparison has been
made between a self-built convolutional neural network and several pre-trained models. The outcomes
demonstrated the best residual network model, based on pre-trained convolutional neural networks,
was able to properly identify photos with an accuracy of 97.08%.

5. According to Yeoh Keng Yik,2020 As it is simpler to create and produces more reliable results, deep
learning detection using the YOLOv3 method is recommended in contrast to research on machine
learning based detection, image processing or accelerometer detection. after a pothole Real-time
camera detection will cause the location to be recorded and shown using Google Maps API. For the
purpose of putting the pothole detection training model into action, 330 different sets of data were
gathered. The model produced 0.41 recall rate, 0.9% accuracy rate, 65.05 mAP as results. Using GPU
with better specified performances and the ability to sample 1000–10,000 datasets, the YOLOv3 method
detection limitation may be improved even more.

6. According to Khaled R. Ahmed,2021 They developed potholes with a sufficient level of precision using
effective deep learning convolution neural networks (CNNs). This research suggests a modified VGG16
(MVGG16) network to lower the computational cost and enhance training outcomes. various dilation
rates and certain convolution layers. Additionally, the Faster R-CNN in this research employs the
MVGG16 as its backbone network. The performance of the YOLOv5 models (Small (Ys), Medium (Ym),
and Large (Yl)) with ResNet101 backbone is also compared, as is that of the Faster R-CNN with the
MVGG16 , InceptionV3, MobileNetV2, ResNet50(FPN)and VGG16 backbones.

7. According to Hyunwoo Song, 2018 offer a simple method for Smartphone based pothole detection,
using Transfer Learning used for categorization. The experimental finding supports the suggested
strategy gives us efficiency in terms of performance and implementation.
