Experiment 3
Experiment 3
Different Conditions
Materials:
Methods:
Effect of Temperature:
1. Label the soda bottles as ‘A” and ‘B’, ensure that both bottles are at room temperature.
2. Shake both bottles vigorously until bubbles are formed inside. Observe the bubbles
formed.
3. Place bottle ‘A’ in the basin with hot water and ‘B’ in the basin with ice cubes. Ensure
that both bottles are submerged adequately.
4. Leave for 5 minutes, then remove from the basin and wipe the bottle with dry cloth.
Observe the bubbles inside the bottles.
5. Compare the “before and after” formation of the bubbles for both conditions.
Effect of Concentration
1. Use the soda submerged in hot water and let it cool down to room temperature.
3. Close the bottle cap immediately and observe the bubbles formed.
4. Compare the “before and after” formation of the bubbles (before and after adding
vinegar)
5. Take photos and record the observations.
Effect of Pressure
1. Use the soda submerged in ice and let it cool down to room temperature.
2. Open the bottle cap then pour the carbonated drink into a clear drinking glass.
