SAYTEX 621
Flame Retardant

Description SAYTEX 621 flame retardant is a physical blend of brominated polystyrene and a
polyester resin. It is supplied in a convenient low-dust pellet form and contains a
high level of bromine, about 64 percent.

Applications SAYTEX 621 flame retardant is designed specifically for injection-molding grades
of polybutylene terephthalate (PBT). Because of its unique chemistry, it provides
the excellent balance of low melt viscosity, excellent mechanical properties, and
high thermal stability required for thin-wall, complex-geometry parts such as
electrical connectors. Because of its high bromine content, it is a highly efficient
flame retardant additive.

SAYTEX 621 flame retardant is a non-blooming additive that works well in unfilled,
fiberglass and fiberglass/mineral-reinforced PBT composites.

SAYTEX 621 flame retardant is a non-deca based FR that can be used globally and
is fully acceptable from an environmental perspective.
