WHAT IS CONSTITUTION?

A set of principles, which maybe written or unwritten, which

establishes the power within a political system, relationships between

political institutions, the limits of government jurisdiction, the rights of

citizens and the method of amending the constitution itself.


CONSTITUTIONS OF ISLAMIC REPUBLIC OF PAKISTAN:
• One of the most difficult tasks for newly created Pakistan was the
framing of its comprehensive constitution.
• It took almost 9years for the 2 constituent assemblies to make a
constitution for the country.
• Following are the 3 constitutions of Pakistan after its independence.
-1956
-1962
-1973
THE CONSTITUITION OF 1956:

-Called as Islamic Republic of Pakistan.


-Language.
-Foreign Relations.
-Uni-Cameral Legislature.
-Freedom of Religion.
-Based on Islamic Laws.
THE CONSTITUITION OF 1962:

-Called as Republic of Pakistan.


-Muslim head of the state.
-Islamic research institutions.
-Uni-Cameral Legislature.
-No Un Islamic Law.
-Federation.
THE CONSTITUITION OF 1973:

-Islamic System.
-National language.
-Bi-Cameral Legislature.
-Independence of judiciary.
-Parliamentary Form of Government.
