Bill Gates was born into a wealthy family that provided him with an education at elite
centers such as the Lakeside School (1967-73) and Harvard University (1973-77).
Always in collaboration with his friend Paul Allen, he entered the world of computer
science forming a small team dedicated to the realization of programs that sold to
companies or public administrations.

On April 4, 1975, while still a student at HarvardUniversity, he created the Microsoft

softwarecompany.In 1985, Gates was named one of the "50 MostDesirable
Bachelors" by Good Housekeeping.

He married Melinda French on January 1, 1994 and theyhad three children.

In a March 2014 Rolling Stone magazine interview,Gates said that, in terms of his
faith, “the moralsystems of religion, I think, are super important.We've raised our kids
in a religious way”.

In the sameinterview, Gates said: “I think it makes sense tobelieve in God, but
exactly what different decision inyour life you make because of that, I don't know”

In 1994, he bought a Leonardo da Vinci manuscript(the Hammer Codex, also called

the Leicester Codex)for $30 million.In 2007 Bill Gates ranked second in the annual
list ofthe greatest personal fortunes compiled by Forbesmagazine, behind the
Mexican businessman CarlosSlim.

Since 2008, the year he stopped running Microsoft, hehas succeeded in some
projects in order to spread thislifestyle.

he announced the end of hismarriage to Melinda French, after 27 years ofmarriage,

through a message posted on his personalTwitter account. Although they end their
personalrelationship, they will continue to work together at theBill and Melinda Gates
Foundation.
