PROJECT BRIEF

CLEAN-AIR ALUNAN PROGRAM

Name and Type of Project This program aims to improve the quality of air on the
(w/ brief description): immediate area of the municipality of Alunan for the health
benefit of the constituents by drastically eliminating all possible
sources of air pollutants.

Proponents: DA, DENR, PNP,LGU & CSOs

There is a significant rise in the content of air-pollutants due to
the influx of commuters traversing the locality being the gate
way of Pangasinan Province.

Due to un-policed burning of post-harvest agricultural waste


such as crop left-over, backyard dried leaves and other non-

Due to non systematic waste disposal of livestock manures and


left-over.

Target Beneficiaries: Primarily the inhabitants of the municipality of Alunan and other
transient people passing-by the locality.
Local farmers who are engaged in crop production
Strict implementation of all the provisions of RA 8749 or the  ”
COMPREHENSIVE AIR POLLUTION CONTROL POLICY AND
FOR OTHER PURPOSES”.

Increased number of both farmers and households who are


compliant to organic composting as means of disposal of post-
harvest agricultural waste and backyard waste..

Increased number of households participating in proper solid


waste management policies of the barangay and the
municipality.
Target Output/Success
Indicators: Strict implementation of policy prohibiting the use of plastic bags
particularly single use plastics.

Strict implementation of smoke-belching policy to both the


residents and passers-by.

Strict implementation of non-smoking policy on the whole


territory of the municipality.

Sustainable management of livestock manure and left-over.

Abuse of enforcing authority


Non-compliance of the whole community
Possible Risks: Build-up of heaps of post-harvest agricultural waste and organic
backyard waste.
