GIRAFFE

1. Highest Land Animal Giraffes are the highest land animals in the world. Its height can reach
5.7 meters. Even so, the number of vertebrae of his neck is the same as other mammals and
humans. He has seven vertebrae.

5. Big Heart The giraffe's heart is different from other animals. The giraffe's heart must be able
to pump blood through its long neck to its head. Therefore, the giraffe's heart weighs up to 10
kg. In one minute, the heart can pump blood as much as 600 liters.
6. Can Live Without Water Like camels, giraffes can survive without water. Even he can survive
without water longer than camels. Usually, giraffes will drink approximately 12 gallons of water
first. Only then can he survive without water. The source of giraffe water is from the food,
namely the leaves of the acacia tree.
7. Have Long Tongue Besides his neck, the giraffe's tongue is also long. Giraffe tongue can
reach 45 cm in length. He uses his tongue to take and crush his food. This tongue is also used
to lick his ears so that they are clean of dirt.
8. Longer Forefoot The giraffe's legs turned out to be not the same length. The front legs are
slightly longer than the hind legs. Its function is to hold the muscles at the base of the neck. The
front legs also make it easier for the giraffe to climb the slope.
