Lindt & Sprungli (Aust) Pty Ltd May 2006 - April 2012
Lindt is an international Swiss based premium chocolate company with sales in Australia in
excess of $270 million. The Lindt Chocolat Café Australian operation is the first of its kind in the
world. The business required a full business plan, which was submitted to Switzerland for
capital input. A manufacturing facility was then established to produce all café item and store
sites were analysed and chosen.

control and develop the business through the viable planning of new stores.

Darrell Lea Chocolate Shops 1989 - 2004


A private family owned Australian business manufacturing, retailing and wholesaling
confectionery with budgeted turnover for FY2004 of $80 million. Retailing in over 500 outlets
Australia wide. Wholesale sales into grocery; discount department stores and route trade, and
export sales, primarily to North America and UK.

Marketing Manager 2000 - 2003


Gross Profit responsibility by determining the optimum product mix, the total marketing
strategy including the promotional program, advertising and distribution network. To grow the
brand equity and maximise contribution using the total marketing mix. Four direct reports.
Achievements.
 Developed the long-term strategic marketing plan for the total Darrell Lea business,
including product range analysis, pricing, distribution strategy, and positioning of the
Darrell Lea brand.
 Communicated the new brand strategy franchisees ensuring there was complete buy in.
This ensured the brand was portrayed in a consistent manner.
 Sales increased by 22% in the three years FYE2004. This was achieved by reengineering
the total Darrell Lea range. In a period of 2 years the complete range was revitalised.
 Developed a new franchisee relationship model (approximately 400 across Australia and
New Zealand) ensuring adoption and execution of all marketing activities and adherence
to brand guidelines.
 Conducted a margin analysis of the total range, developed a store merchandising plan
and a rolling 18 month promotional plan which maximised returns to the business.
 Initiated and managed the Sales and Operations Planning process from the demand side
allowing the timely delivery of seasonal and promotional products and in store
merchandising material.
 Formulated policies for sampling, cross promotion, advertising and PR resulting in an
increase in brand equity via the strong, consistent portrayal of the Darrell Lea brand.
 Promoted seasonal events via television media campaigns, three new successful
television commercials.
Ricci Remond (Subsidiary of Darrell Lea) 1989- 2000
Ricci Remond was a wholly owned subsidiary of Darrell Lea Chocolates developed to conduct
all wholesale activities through grocery and wholesalers.

Achievements.
 Formulated the Strategic Marketing plan, which successfully penetrated the grocery
and discount department store market. This resulted in total growth from $5 million to
$18 million in 5 years predominantly in the Easter market.
 Managed all elements of product development and sales including new product
concepts, packaging design, costing, margin analysis, through to presentation to major
accounts.

 Originated two new television commercials to support two new product concepts that
were developed resulting in sales in excess of $1 million for each line for each Easter.
Formulated the corresponding media schedule and placement strategy in order to
reach the specified target market.
 Devised on pack promotions which further enhanced the saleability of the products
 Researched the confectionery market determining possible niche markets in line with
production capabilities.
 Export opportunities were expanded upon with the successful launch of Soft Eating
liquorice into the North America and The U.K. with a significant uplift, of more than
70% in export sales achieved.

Marketing Manager 1989 - 1993


Managed all aspects of product development, advertising and promotional expenditure with
one direct report.
Achievements.
 Conceived and launched a range of Easter products for each of the major retail chains.
This resulted in developing approximately 60 new SKUs each year. Conducted
negotiations with National Buyers achieving effective product presentation and pricing.
 Developed advertising and promotional budgets and determined most effective levels
of spend in store promotions, advertising, pack promotions etc.

market the complete range of manufactured egg and related products.
