SUMMARY

In summarization to our chosen topic which is Time reduction, we expound and discuss the
importance and effectiveness of Time reduction in boosting the revenue of a business. So, Cycle
time reduction is one strategy in any organization that enables the operational management to
have or to become a successful business. It is very crucial, especially for those organizations
that aim to have an immense number of sales and profitability in their business. Moreover,
having a cycle time could benefit the organization in various ways, such as improving the
quality, productivity and efficiency of a product. Therefore, by using cycle time, it can meet
customer satisfaction and possibly get new potential customers, and aside from that, it can also
be a competitive advantage for the competitors.

In addition, this trend in operation management is helpful to any organization as it will be

effectively increasing the sales and profitability of the business. However, despite of those
benefits, there is still cons for this case like if an organization encounters unexpected events
such as typhoons or pandemic (Covid-19), it can affect the cycle time reduction and the overall
operations of any business. Therefore, any organization should be prepared enough especially if
they are aiming to maintain and have a good status to their business.

To conclude, having cycle time reduction benefits the business in various ways. For instance,
any company with faster cycle time will always have competitive advantage specially if they
offer the same products as their competitors. Therefore, if company wants to increase their ROI
and profitability as well as get customer satisfaction, they should consider to have a better and
faster time cycle than their competitors.
Experience

I appreciated all the experiences I have encountered related to this case, like companies or
businesses that use cycle time reduction. For instance, I ordered products several times from
one of the most well-known online shopping websites or apps, which is Shoppe, and I
countered some shops or sellers who sent my parcel right away after I checked out or ordered
it. As a result, it will arrive sooner than the expected date, which is good, and I will not have to
wait any longer. It might even be an advantage for me, especially if I ordered essential
products. Therefore, as a satisfied customer, I gave them a good rate for their service.
Reaction

Upon researching and studying the trend in operation management that we chose, which is
the Time reduction, I learned that it is actually an excellent strategy for any businesses or
organizational management. Moreover, I am amazed as I discovered how helpful it is as it has
immense benefits for the businesses, such as it will meet customers satisfaction, it boosts
productivity and others., and someday, as I become part of an organization, we will apply this
kind of trend in operations management to our business because I think it would be a great
strategy to increase sales and revenue.

Application

If I were an operation manager, I will apply cycle time reduction by removing those non-value
added time activities and also eliminating unimportant activities such as over processing,
waiting, defects, overproduction to improve the performance of reducing the cycle of time.
