intention can play a role in healing. If the scientific information is complex, the basic, and most important point, is that life and healing are dynamic (constantly changing, rather than static) which means that there are infinite potential outcomes that individuals can influence. The dynamic nature of all molecules of life is fascinating. What is seen in a textbook diagram is a static protein structure, but the actual structure of a protein is far more complex. Scientists in molecular biology crystallize proteins to examine the static view of their structure. This process of freezing them in time is called crystallography. To date only a small fraction of proteins have been explored but the knowledge being gained only reveals information about their static view. These proteins are dynamic and yet what we are able to study is their fixed conformations -- a snapshot in time or a static view of the protein structure.3 In crystallography crystals must have an ordered formation and all the proteins have to be in the same fixed conformation in order to allow for a good image. This means that the dynamic nature of these proteins is lost in the process of collecting data.4 The dynamic nature of proteins means they are constantly changing their conformations. Over time certain conformations enhance the rate of a reaction a little more than other conformations, which is described as some being more enzymatically active than others. This means that just the smallest change in structure or orientation of any part of this protein has dramatic effects on its enzymatic activity (part of metabolism) and, consequently, your health. In other words, metabolism is based on enzyme activity, and these enzymes are proteins that are influenced by our intentions.5 Keep in mind that protein structures are constantly changing (what we call metabolism) through enzymatic activity. These enzymes (particular proteins), do respond to our intentions (thoughts). You can see that there is no such thing as an idle or neutral thought a huge motivation to practice positive thoughts.
