Should Osama be shown mercy and put in to trial instead of being shot down by the Navy Seals.

The operation carried out by the CIA paramilitaries and the elite Navy SEAL Team Six to raid the hideout took place on May 1. After close to a decade after the 9/11 attacks, the United States finally managed to track down the mastermind, Osama bin Laden's hideout.
Despite the achievement, there are some who argue that Osamas death was cruel and that he should have been shown more mercy by putting him in a trial. That is because no matter how many people he killed, he is a human and deserves to have a fair trial, just like every criminal.
However, I feel that the decision to kill Osama is justified. That is the fate that he deserves as he had already caused so many lives to be lost in all the terrorist attacks that he was behind, especially the 9/11 disaster, when over 3000 lives were lost. When President Barack Obama announced the news of Osama s death, he said Justice has been done . Former President George W. Bush said, The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," Osama had done something very wrong and escaped from it long enough and it is time for him to face his judgement.

In my opinion, Osama should never have a chance at mercy. He is well known for being such a crafty and dangerous person. Under such circumstances, the Navy SEAL Team Six and the CIA paramilitaries cannot afford to not kill him and capture him alive. There were militants all around and the army could not ascertain who Osama was at that critical time. They had also spent much time tracking him down and thus they cannot afford to lose him again, for fear of another terrorist attack. In conclusion, Osama should not receive mercy in this case as he definitely does not deserve it and people from all over the world live in fear of him and thus, his death is fully justified and he should never be offered a chance to go for a trial.

"Justice has been done," President Barack Obama said in a dramatic announcement at the White House while a crowd cheered outside and hundreds more gathered at ground zero in Manhattan to celebrate the news.

Former President George W. Bush, who was in office on the day of the attacks, issued a written statement hailing bin Laden's death as a momentous achievement. "The fight against terror goes on, but tonight America has sent an unmistakable message: No matter how long it takes, justice will be done," he said.
