CHAPTER I

Introduction

If you are presenting school work like power point or video presentation and you don’t have laptop then this

device for you. To present even you don’t have any real projector. What is the benefits in other people? It can

be use to watch some movie or other videos in what matter if you don’t have a television you can use it in your

movie marathon. Its not only useful in students it can be useful for teacher too. If the TV or projector in school

is not working you can use this mobile projector as alternative for CP “Computer Projector”. Mobile projector is

very portable. This is a hand held device that we can use to project. It has adjustable phone holder to adjust the

focus of the projection. Mobile projector does not have HDMI port or other display connector like the real

projector. Just plug your mobile phone and project.

Its engaging because, it will be really help full to student and not only in students also to those who love to

watch vlog , stream movie because you can use it in school by using it in school work, presentation in school

and non-other than that. You can also use in movie marathon or watching video to entertain or past time when

you have free time because nowadays there so many people using mobile phones this idea can help many

people for their school or office.

The obtrusive appearance of fiducial markers is avoided and the hidden marker surface doubles as a functional

projection surface. The researchers present example applications that demonstrate a wide range of interaction

scenarios, including media navigation tools, interactive storytelling applications, and mobile games. The

researchers explore the design space enabled by the HideOut system and describe the hidden marker

prototyping process. HideOut brings tangible objects to life for interaction with the physical world around us.

(Jose María del Campo, et,al,2013)

Specific Question

Does the students know the existence of mobile projector?

The researchers know the consequences that some of the multimedia technologies are having on teachers,

students and the learning process. It is the researchers goal as teachers to keep ourselves up to date, in order to

offer the student adequate technical content, while providing proper motivation through the use of new

technologies. The study provides a forecast in the evolution of multimedia within the classroom and the renewal

of the education process

(Jose María del Campo,et,al,2012)

Does student know how to use mobile projector?

Due to the prevalence of cell phones many people view information on small handheld LCD screens. However,

these mobile devices require the use of one hand, the user needs to keep a close watch on a small display, and

they have to be retrieved from a pocket or a bag. To overcome these problems, the researchers focus on

wearable projection systems that enable hands-free viewing via large projected screens, eliminating the need to

retrieve and hold devices. In this paper, the researchers present a toe input system that can realize haptic

interaction, direct manipulation, and floor projection using a wearable projection system with a large projection

surface. It is composed of a mobile projector, Kinect depth camera, and a gyro sensor.

(Daiki Matsuda,et,al,2012)

What are the materials needed to create mobile projector?

The materials are shoe box, magnifying glass, glue stick, cutter or scissor, rubber band, cardboard and wrap.

The estimate cost is 500 pesos and if you create this mobile projector or DIY mobile projector, the estimate time

cost is 1-3 hours or it depends to your work.

Scope and Delimitation

The scope of the study are ICT 11 and 12 who are studying at Lords Angels Montessori School who has

experience using mobile projector and limited to the non-student of ICT in LAMS..

This study is significant to the following:

To the Teachers – This study will help teacher because they can use it to present their lessons to teach their

students. It can also be used in meeting of school administrators for their presentation. It can be used especially

by teachers who only have cellphones and they doesn’t have laptops.

For the ICT students - ICT students can use this mobile projector for their school work because ICT strand is a

course where you can learn more about technologies. Mobile projector is a good example of technology.

To the Future Researchers

For the future researcher. This is significant because the can use it as reference so they can have an idea of how

to start their research, especially if their topic is comparison between mobile projector and computer projector.

Related study

First working prototypes of mobile phones with integrated pico projectors have already been demonstrated and

it is expected that such projector phones will be sold within the next three years. Applications that require

interaction with large amounts of information will benefit from the large projection and its high resolution. This

paper analyses the advantages and disadvantages of an integrated projector when interacting with maps, and
discusses findings useful for the development of mobile applications for projector phones. The researchers

report in particular the implementation of an application that uses either the screen of the mobile phone, the

projection or a combination of both. These three options were compared in a user study in which the

participants had to perform three different tasks with each option. The results provide clear evidence for the

positive aspects of using a built-in projector, but also show some negative aspects related to text input.

(Alina Hang, et,al,2008)

HideOut is a mobile projector-based system that enables new applications and interaction techniques with

tangible objects and surfaces. HideOut uses a device mounted camera to detect hidden markers applied with

infrared-absorbing ink. The obtrusive appearance of fiducial markers is avoided and the hidden marker surface

doubles as a functional projection surface. The researchers present example applications that demonstrate a

wide range of interaction scenarios, including media navigation tools, interactive storytelling applications, and

mobile games. The researchers explore the design space enabled by the HideOut system and describe the hidden

marker prototyping process. HideOut brings tangible objects to life for interaction with the physical world

around us (Karl D. D. Willis, et,al,2013).

In 1992, Tani et al. proposed remotely operating machines in a factory by manipulating a live video image on a

computer screen. In this paper the researchers revisit this metaphor and investigate its suitability for mobile use.

The researchers present Touch Projector, a system that enables users to interact with remote screens through a

live video image on their mobile device. The handheld device tracks itself with respect to the surrounding

displays. Touch on the video image is "projected" onto the target display in view, as if it had occurred there.

This literal adaptation of Tani's idea, however, fails because handheld video does not offer enough stability and

control to enable precise manipulation. The researchers address this with a series of improvements, including

zooming and freezing the video image. In a user study, participants selected targets and dragged targets between
displays using the literal and three improved versions. We found that participants achieved highest performance

with automatic zooming and temporary image freezing (Sebastian Boring, et,al,2010).

CHAPTER II

Methods of Research

The research design will be an Action Research Design. The researcher choose action design to improve the

understanding on how to make DIY mobile projector and how it work.

Action research is one of the method of the researcher’s about mobile projector. Because it shows how mobile

projector works and what is the steps to create your own. That we can describe mobile projector and how it can

help for students, office or other kind of presentation and comparing the computer projector and mobile

projector.

Action research seeks information by the process of taking action and performing research. This method can

help the researchers to gather information. It can help by collecting and analyzing data that identify the

problem. Develop a plan action and report the results of your research.

Research Locale

This research will be conducted in Lords Angel Montessori School Inc SHS department in City of Malolos

Bulacan.
The researcher came from the student of grade 11 ICT in Lord’s Angel’s Montessori School INC Senior High

School Department, (LAMS SHS Dept). The participants are choosen because they are in the administration in

the school. They have the capability to answer the questions prepared.

Data Gathering

The researchers will give letter of permission to respondents of grade 11 & 12 ICT students of Lord’s Angel’s

Montessori School. If our request is granted, the researchers will start to gather information to respondents and

researcher start to analyze and make output of respondents given data.

Procedure

Creating a mobile projector the materials and tools

you need is

Shoe box, glue stick, rubber band, extra card board,

biconvex lenses, Scissors, cutter, glue gun, and

pencil.

First step is to get the shape of the lens by tracing the

shape of the lens.

Second step cut the trace of the shape of lens.

After you cut the lens shape in the shoe box. The

shoe box will become like this.

Third step after you cut the shape of the lens. Use a

glue gun to glue the lens in the shoe box.

Fourth step for the base of the second lens you need

cut a rectangular shape to hold your second lens.

Fifth step after you cut the base of second lens draw a

circle to capture the shape of your second lens.

Six step use a cutter to cut the shape of the lens.

Seventh step after you cut the shape of the lens use
glue gun to glue the lens in your cardboard base that
hold your second lens.
Eight step cut a rectangular shape in your cardboard
for phone stand

As you can see the cellphone is fit in the cardboard

Ninth step cut a five pieces of cardboard to make a

phone holder.
Tenth step placed the parts by using a glue gun to

stick the parts together

Eleventh step put a supporter in your phone holder.

Twelveth step use a glue gun to fix the supporter of

the phone holder.

Thirteenth step put a small piece of cardboard to

elevate the phone holder.

Fourteenth step create a hole on both ends of the

holder to put the rubber band that holds your phone

properly.

Fifteenth step put the rubber band in the holes you

created in the phone holder.

Sixteenth step create a slot for your lens to make it

adjustable for the focus and size of projection.

This is what it looks like

Put your second lens in any spot that you created.

After all of the procedure your mobile projector is

done. Place your phone in the phone holder. You can

adjust the focus and the size by changing the slots of

the second lens.

CHAPTER III

Results

The researcher’s is finding out if a DIY mobile projector can be used as alternative device of Computer

projector. The researchers found out that normal lens will not project. In this situation the researchers search an

answer on what lens they will use in their DIY mobile projector that can help to project their device. The

researchers watch and search in the internet and use it as preference in making a mobile projector. Because of

this the researchers found out that binocular lens or convex lens can be used as lens of mobile projector. But

the researchers find out that the DIY mobile projector is not that clear than computer projector. In this situation

we see the advantage of computer projector by its performance. The researchers learn many things in making a

mobile projector this learning experience will help them to improve their DIY mobile projector. The researchers

conduct an interview and respondents shown their cooperation by answering the questions made by the

researcher’s. Each respondents have different opinion to the researcher’s interview. The researcher’s find out

that mobile projector is not popular yet and it will become a convenient device. The respond of the respondents

can help the researcher’s research to improve the device called DIY mobile projector in the future.
CHAPTER IV

Conclusion

The researchers compare and find an alternative device for computer projector and that is DIY mobile projector.

They both have same purpose and uses. The mobile projector is using a mobile devices that you won’t need a

laptop or a computer you only need a cellphone to project. We are making this research to help everyone so

they can make their own mobile projector. And because it is a DIY project DIY mobile projector has

disadvantage in performance but it is a convenient device that you can made at your home. And if you have

enough budget. Buy a computer projector that capable for all devices and have great performance.

They both have advantages and disadvantage that the researchers can apply for future research. This research

can help the future researchers by making this as a preference so they can improved our DIY mobile projector.

If they can improved it more this can help us in our daily life as a student and for the other people.
