1) Go to www.state.nj.us/mvc/

2) Scroll down and Click on the blue box that says “Schedule an Appointment-
View Details”

3) Click on “Make an Appointment”

4) Click on:

INITIAL PERMIT (NOT FOR KNOWLEDGE TEST)

Required Documents

• Excludes CDL & Special Learner Permit

• Purchase an auto examination permit (Class D) (ages 17+)
• Purchase a motorcycle permit (Class E) (ages 17+)
• Purchase an agriculture permit (Class G) (ages 16-17)
• Purchase a moped permit (Class F) (ages 15+)
• Purchase a motorcycle license/add an endorsement (ages 17+)
• Purchase a boat license (ages 16+)

5) Select a location with available appointments

6) Select a date and a time.

***Remember… new appointments become available each night after 12 midnight!***

Bring with you to DMV:

- Current NJ License
- 6 points of I.D.
- MSF Completion Card
- M.O.S.T. Card
- Cash, Check, or Credit Card to pay fees.
