Title:
Grease Injectors Go / No Go
INTRODUCTION: Incorrectly Adjusted SL-V and SL-V XL Grease Injectors

The Loader Service Manual describes how to properly adjust and maintain the loader’s automatic lubrication system, including how
to adjust the grease injectors for properly for maximum output. A Go / No Go gague has been developed to make this maximum
adjustment easier and more reliable, and this GTB describes how to use the gauge.

RECOMMENDED ACTIONS: Use Correct Adjustment Settings and Procedure

Set the injectors to the maximum operating setting for initial startup. After a startup period, the injectors may be adjusted to prevent
over greasing of specific joints. It is recommended that when adjusting injectors back from maxium setting, that the adjustment be
made in very small increments over a period of days to prevent overshooting and starving the lubricated components of grease.

A Go / No Go guage P/N R4279085 is available to use for proper adjustment of either SL-V or SL-V XL injectors.

Lock out the machine’s starting capability and place frame lock in the locked position before
performing any removal or installation procedure. Serious injury or loss of life is possible if the
machine is started or moves while repair operations are being conducted. Follow all applicable
lockout procedures and local rules and regulations for performing maintenance, service, or
repair procedure.

4. Using Go / No Go guage P/N R4279085, adjust the stem of the valve so that the Go / No Go fits snugly between point A
and B. This will set the SL-V injector to deliver maximum output.

SL-V adjusted correctly for maximum output 1) Adjusted too long 2) Adjusted too short

5. When adjusted is correct, tighten jam nut.
