For the Chief, Bureau of Fire Protection to approve the newly created logo of the Health Service BACKGROUND/ JUSTIFICATION: 2. References: . a. The Health Service (HS) caters services comprising of the following units: Medical Unit, Dental Unit, Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation Unit, and Emergency Medical Services (EMS). Presently, the HS has the following Allied Health professionals such as licensed Psychologists and Psychometricians, Pharmacists, Nutritionist/Dietitian, and Medical Technologists 4. While the HS continuously provide and extend medical, dental and allied- medical services to all BFP personnel and dependents including retirees. It is essentially needed that the office of HS should have its own logo for the purpose of identification of its services for the BFP. As HS embodies a service-oriented nature of work, it is a vocation to offer health care services. 5. In this regard, the meaning and symbolisms of the HS Logo are as follows— a. Meaning — Seeing light (white) from darkness (black), a nomenclature of saving life. The simplicity of the design symbolizes humility, respect and professionalism; b. Shield — The shape of the logo, it symbolizes the medical professionals as frontliners, to protecting the public and responding to natural disasters and other emergencies; c. Rod of Asclepius and The Snake — Asclepius, the son of the Greek god Apollo, who mastered the art of healing. He is the Greek god of Medicine (god of healing, truth, and prophecy). The rod and snake symbolizes life, food, medicine. The snake also symbolize medicine, it was previously learned that the venom of the snake can be a cure as an “anti-venom’; d. The Six Bar Cross “Star of life” — The official emblem of EMS, the six bars represent (1) Response, (2) On Scene Care, (3) Care on Transit, (4) Transfer to Definitive Care, (5) Detection/Dedication, and (6) Reporting/Documentation; e. Malta / Maltese Cross (Knighthood Emblem) - The symbol of protection, a badge of honor, courage and pride, and a representation of the ideals of Fire Service in saving lives and properties, and extinguishment of destructive fires; 1 Three Stars - represents Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao (the three major islands in the country); ECG Tracing - life, heartbeat; Laurel - symbol of victory, honor; and i. Colors: (hex code) Blue (#004AAD) — service, loyalty, sincerity Red (#FF0000) — fire, heat, passion Gold (#CCA42D) - wisdom, experience, compassionate, success Platinum (#E6E9F7) — untarnished, strength Black (#000000) - evokes authority and formality, its positive meaning are elegance, sophistication, and protection White (#F FFFFF) — purity and peacefulness, light Green (#007400) — life and growth ze @O 4. The following will be the usage of the proposed HS Logo, to wit; a. Official logo of HS nationwide - all Regional HS and HS NHQ will bear this logo in their respective offices, records, forms and documents, among others. Flags and banners - the official flag of HS will bear this logo Official insignia as pin or patch for BFP Uniforms - The official logo will be part of BFP uniforms. The logo will be used as pins in GOA Type A and Type B uniforms and patches in GOA Type C and Delta uniforms. d. Used for identification purposes and signage - the official logo will be attached to PPEs and helmets during operations (if HS is needed at fire / there are emergency incidents that presence of HS will be needed), transport vehicles such as the HS Ambulance and Service Vehicle for distinction = 6.
