The Digital Mindset-The Pro-Active Approach Towards Innovation, Diversity, and


Allyship in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry is the topic of the October 8 webinar. It
discusses pre-covid and post-covid situations in the hospitality and tourism industries,
covid connected hospitality trends, industry marketing strategies, and particularly the
webinar concentrates on innovation in the hospitality and tourism industries. In this
growingly globalized and competitive world, all industries experience difficulties, and the
tourism and hospitality industry are no exception. Conflicts, terrorist acts, weather-
related disasters in specific and global warming in broad sense, economic disasters,
epidemic diseases, political unrest, environmental decline, visas, and overall growth and
development are all factors that create difficulties to the industry. As the tourism and
hospitality industry expands, as the number of tourists increases, and new destinations
arise, competition within the industry increases. Innovation is one of the strategies used
across the board.

Innovation has been defined as both a way of doing and thinking (Moscado,
2008). The hospitality and tourism industry faces a number of natural and man-made
issues that must be addressed in order to minimize the negative effects of hospitality
and tourism industry and keep it competitive. Each industry sector faces unique
challenges, whether it is the cruise industry, hotels and restaurants, the airline industry,
culture and the arts, or the service industry. To reduce the negative consequences of
tourism and hospitality, the tourism and hospitality industries have innovated. Innovative
technologies have accelerated the growth of the tourism and hospitality industries'
markets. One of the most important aspects for hospitality and tourism businesses that
cater to new conditions and basic needs while remaining relevant over time is
innovation. As a result, it can be noted that innovation aids in the development of the
reputation of the tourism and hospitality sector in many countries, promotes the global
tourist industry in general, and addresses the increasing demand of tourists by
improving the quality of the tourist experience, resulting in an increase in the number of
tourists.

So, in line with innovation, it is absolutely essential that industries adopt new
technologies because both customers and businesses can benefit from them.  Tourism
and hospitality industries have benefited from technological labor to replace expensive
human labor. This not only helps to reduce employment costs, but it also helps to avoid
problems with customer service. The most recent innovation that encourages more
people to travel is the introduction of contactless stays via a free app by most hotels. All
of the company's locations are now cashless, and guests use the app to book a room
before arriving. Check-in and check-out are completed in-app, and the guest's
smartphone controls all entertainment and ambient systems in the rooms. So it is much
easier and more convenient for the guest if they will just use the app in booking for their
accommodation.

To summarize it all, it is essential for hospitality and tourism industry business


owners to employ innovative strategies because innovation is crucial to
entrepreneurship in the tourism and hospitality industry, as travel, tourism, and related
industries become increasingly focused on customer experience.
