The critique paper of

Enola Holmes

The movie “Enola Holmes” is a 2 hours and 9 minutes movie directed by

Harry Bradbeer. This story is about Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown) the
youngest sister of the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, Enola is a rare Victorian
breed — a girl who has a knack for martial arts, cryptograms, and science
experiments that involve blowing things up, Enola notes that her name is “alone”
spelled backward. Enola Holmes is the youngest sibling in the Holmes family. Enola
was an extremely intelligent, observant, and adventurous and a young lady must be
identified as a well-mannered lady at their time. She was taught by her mother
Eudoria (Helena Bonham Carter) everything from chess to jujitsu, Enola was taught
to be an independent and adventurous lady. But then she disappears suddenly as
Enola turns 16, leaving her daughter to fend for herself with a series of cryptic clues
and a couple of disapproving older brothers who’ve returned to check on her. The
flower cards left by her mother reveal secret messages and lead to hidden money,
which Enola uses to escape disguised as a boy. She traveled around London to find
her missing mother but ends up with a thrilling adventure with the runaway lord that
is Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge).
The story has a lot of adventurous and thrilling scenes about why Enola wants
to know why her mother disappeared, a story that has a lot of challenges that she
faced on finding her mother. In the movie, she was like a true detective just like her
older brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), it proves that being a detective runs in
their blood. The film was trending in 2020 because of its thrilling and adventurous
movie, for me the film was full of mysteries to be solved a case to be discovered.  In
several Holmes adaptations, clues flash before the audience as the detective pieces
the mystery together. Bradbeer does so here as well, but the energy brought on by the
fast-moving cutaways is ever-present. The period sets are lovingly captured, as the
vibrant colors pop off the screen. The costumes are also fantastic, as Enola disguises
herself several times, and each one is detailed and gorgeous. The film offers
adventure, comedy, mystery, and personal growth. Enola Holmes is a lark of a film
that might have the possibility of becoming a mini franchise for Netflix. Brown is the
clear winner of the film, as she embodies everything the character needs to be and
makes the trite technique of talking to the camera bearable with her charm.
