WASTING TIME WITH BTY DRAINING WHEN STARTING AT OUTSTN HELIPADS. GIVE RT CALL ON I-COM IF REQD)
• CARRY OUT PRE-START CHECKS
• ONLY FWG TO BE ON : 01 X MFD (MFD 2/3), 01 X CDU, SEI (TAKE OUT REST CBs)
• MASTER POWER ON. IADS 1 ON. START CLOCK. IADS 2 ON (AFTER 5-10 SECS)
• SEI SELECTED TO TGT. CARRYOUT STANDBY CWP TEST
• WAIT FOR MFD TO COME ON
• FADECs ON. CHECK FOR FAULTS
• FIRE EXT SYS CHECK (FAULT AND FIRE CAUTION).

• SELECT ANOTHER MFD ON (2/3). CHECK AMMETER READING OF GENE ON SYS PG
• START NEXT ENGINE WHEN <150 AMPS / 60 SECS WHICHEVER IS LATER
• START SECOND ENGINE AS PER PROCEDURE
• LEAVE THE SECOND ENGINE ON IDLE MODE AFTER START

IF REQD AT SUITABLE HT IN CASE OF RESTRICTED AREAS
• FOR EST HELIPADS : DYNAMIC RECCE FROM 30 M/ 60-80 KMPH
• FLY LEVEL OVER THE HELIPAD. GO AROUND BY LOWERING
ATTITUDE TO TAKE-OFF ATTITUDE, FOLLOWED BY RAISING COLL TO
TAKE-OFF POWER
• ASCERTAIN WINDS, OBSTRUCTIONS, ELEV, OAT OF THE HELIPAD
FROM CO-PILOT. CALL OUT PLANNED DOWNWIND ALTITUDE
• EST CIRCUIT PATTERN OVER THE HELIPAD
• THE CORRECT DOWNWIND HDG MUST BE MAINT SO AS TO FLY
PARALLEL TO THE RECIPROCAL HDG ON APCH AS FAR AS POSSIBLE
(VARIES WTH EACH HELIPAD)
• HANDOVER CONTROLS. ASK TO MAINT ALT, HDG & SPEED.
• POWER CHECKS ON DOWNWIND
• CALL OUT FROM PPC : ELEV, TEMP, AUW MCP -8% (OR AS REQD).
• CALL OUT PRESENT AUW FROM CDU AFTER CHECKING LD AND PSGR DATA. IN
CASE ELEV & TEMP IS < OR = CALCULATED, THEN CONTINUE WITH LDG. ELSE, RE-
CALUCULATE FROM READY RECKONER. DUMP FUEL IF POSSIBLE / REQD.
• CO-RELATE FROM PFD PERF BAR : MCP AVBL, HOVER Q OGE (OR AS REQD). CALL
OUT MARGIN AVBL
• IF DUMPING NOT POSSIBLE, ABORT LANDING.

• TECHNIQUE FOR TAKE OFF IS SAME AS FOR NORMAL TAKE OFF LEAD BY
CYCLIC WITH SIMULTANEOUS APPL OF COLLECTIVE THE ONLY DIFFERENCE
BEING IN USE OF POWER OF 10% TORQUE (TOP IN ACTUALS) AND THE
INITIAL TAKE OFF ATTITUDE AND CLIMB ATTITUDE (SIMILAR TO HOVER
ATTITUDE)
• PATTER FOR MPTO: “SIR, I SHALL NOW CARRYOUT A MAX POWER TAKEOFF. FOR
TODAYS WINDS AND AUW CONDITIONS, I SHALL NOMINATE AN OBSTR AT 80M
WITH A SAFETY MARGIN OF 20M, I.E 100 MTR AGL & ___ MTR INDICATED AT A
DISTANCE OF 300 MTR FROM THE HELIPAD, CROSSING AT A SPEED OF 60 -80
KMPH. PL CAUTION ME WHEN CROSSING OBSTR AND IN CASE OF USING LESS /
MORE POWER. HOVERING AT ___ Q. I SHALL USE ___%Q FOR TAKE-OFF. I SHALL

NVG OPS
USE OF AVIONICS AND ADDL CHECKS RELATED TO AVIONICS
Before Startup.
• Marking of obstr such as HT cables, towers etc on DMM.
• Feed waypts as reqd/check accuracy of waypts in DATA NAV.
• Prep route as reqd.
Before Pick-up.
• GPWS will be set to 20-30 secs
• DMM will be set to scale as reqd, set to NUP orientation, Line of Sight window selected before pick-up on grnd. Pg
selected back to SCHEMATICS-HYD for pick-up and take-off
• Put wx rdr to stand by
Before Take-off.
• Callout take-off parameters
• Call out dirn of turn after take-off and altitude to climb to
• Call out obstr in take-off leg and initial HDG to steer and obstrs in area till set course checks are carried out
After Take-off.
• Switch ON GPWS immediately on completion of take-off leg and positively before commencement of cross-turn.
(120 kmph/100mtr AGL whichever is earlier)

NVG OPS
Set Course Checks. (To be carried out by pilot not on control by glancing inside after initial hdg has
been est, level flt / climb in prog, A/S and ALT holds as reqd engaged, GPWS switched ON and clear
of trn / obstr in the cct pattern of airfd / helipad)
• Internal Checks
• GPWS ON. Set to ____ Secs
• ALT (if not climbing) & A/S HOLD engaged
• DMM selected. LOS window ON
• Wx Rdr ON. Rg selected to 10 nm/5 nm as reqd. Tilt +5°. Wx rdr selected on HSI. Select DMM back
on pg. (SYS PG must not be toggled)
• Decision ht set to 150 mtr
En-route Checks.
• Internal Checks and course checks every 10 mins (To be carried out by pilot not on controls by
glancing inside. No prolonged looking inside)
• After large change in hdg. (Pilot not on controls to confirm path ahead is clear on DMM and Wx
rdr)
Rejoin Checks.
• Rejoin / ldg checks as per day
• DH set to 2 mtr
• GPWS to be put OFF only after est on finals in a straight path onto the ldg pt. In case Go-Around is
to be carried out, GPWS will be put to ON during the Go-Around (positively before cross-turn is
