A MESSAGE FROM THE
DEPUTY HEAD OF JUNIOR SCHOOL

Dear Junior School Parents,

morning and being able to meet families and speak
with them about the College. If you have not yet
attended a Parent Morning Tea, I highly
recommend that you do so as it is an enjoyable and
beneficial time for all.

Junior School Public Speaking Competition

All students in Years 3-6 have begun preparing for
the Junior School Public Speaking Competition.
Each grade has been assigned a persuasive speech
topic which links with their Science and Technology
or Geography units. Students will write and deliver
their own speeches over the next few weeks, leading
up to the Finals in week 9. Ms Harold and I are very
excited to see what our students can present and we
know it will be an excellent experience for all.

Junior School Prayer

During Week 6, Junior school staff will be reminding
all students of the routines and expectations at daily
K-2 Prayer and 3-6 Prayer, with the aim of ensuring
that prayer continues to be a respectful and
important part of our day. Students will be assisted
to enter the prayer hall quietly and calmly, and
participate in prayer in the correct way.
CREATIVE
WRITING IN 6T
YEAR 6
This term in year 6 we have been learning to write
imaginatively. We have closely studied how writers
capture our imagination through their use of
various literary devices. Through text analysis and
grammar lessons, we have developed our ability to
use imaginative writing language features and
literary devices in our writing. Students have drawn
on personal experiences and/or writing stimuli to
ignite their imagination and inspire their writing. We
have produced some highly impressive pieces of
creative writing. I am delighted to share some of my
favourite samples from 6T.
