And Its Effect on Treating Cardiovascular Atherosclerotic

Statement of the Problem

This study in relevance with the effect of anticoagulant property of garlic and onion on

cardiovascular atherosclerotic seeks to answer the following questions:

1. Does the anticoagulant property of garlic have an effect on treating Atherosclerosis?

2. Does the anticoagulant property of onion have an effect on treating Atherosclerosis?

3. What are the factors of garlic’s anticoagulant substance that helps on treating

Atherosclerosis?

4. What are the factors of onion’s anticoagulant substance that helps on treating

Atherosclerosis?

5. Is there any significant anticoagulant effects between using garlic and red onion’s

anticoagulant substance to treat cardiovascular atherosclerosis?

Objectives of the Study

General Objectives

This study in relevance with the effect of anticoagulant property of garlic and onion on

treating cardiovascular atherosclerosis aims to find out the significant anticoagulant effects of

using garlic and onion’s anticoagulant substance to the prothrombin time of plasma, blood

clotting time, and such.

Specific Objectives

1. To examine the blood anticoagulant factor if 1.8ml of human blood is added to 1 to 30mg

of garlic substance dissolved in 0.2ml of 0.9% saline solution.

2. To examine the blood clotting time if 0.1ml of garlic substance dissolved in 0.9% sodium

chloride solution is added to 1ml of blood.

3. To examine the prothrombin time if plasma containing garlic substance was added to 0.1

ml of calcium chloride (0.02-0.06M)

4. To examine the fibrinolytic effect if 10mg of human fibrin in 1ml of physiological saline

is added to 5-12mg of garlic substance.

5. To examine the anti-thrombin effect if 0.1ml of plasma containing garlic substance is

added to 0.1ml of thrombin solution.

6. To examine the effect of garlic substance on Ac-globulin.
