Good morning.

Today I am here to talk to you about communication


skills.

Communication skills are abilities you use when giving and receiving
different kinds of information. Communication skills enable individuals to
understand others and to be understood themselves.

A variety of aspects are important in the context of these skills, such as


listening, speaking, observing and empathy.

In everyday life, these skills are required to communicate ideas to others,


respect for others and public speaking.

II, Types of communication (Các loại hình giao tiếp):


There are four main types of communication you might use on a daily
basis, including:

1. Verbal Communication:
Communicating by way of a spoken language.
Ex: face-to-face, Phone, Zoom,..ect..

2. Nonverbal Communication:
Communicating by way of body language, facial expressions and vocalics.

3. Written Communication:
Communicating by way of written language, symbols and numbers.
Ex: email, a report, magazine,..etc..

4. Visual Communication:
Communication by way of photography, art, drawings, sketches, charts
and graphs.
TV are running 24/7, Facebook is visual with memes, videos,
images, ..etc..

III, How to improve your communication skills


You can learn and improve your communication skills. Start by
identifying your strengths and then practice and develop those areas.

1. Observe good communicators around you


Identify professionals, family and friends. Observe and take notes on the
specific ways they communicate with others. Do they use a certain tone
of voice in some cases? When?

2. Ask a close friend or colleague for constructive criticism


It can be hard to know how you are perceived as a communicator. To get
an objective opinion, ask a trusted friend for their honest feedback.

3. Practice improving communication habits


Many communication skills are habits you have developed over time. You
can improve those skills by practicing new habits that make you a better
communicator.

4. Attend communication skills workshops or classes


There are several online and offline seminars, workshops and classes
that can help you be a better communicator.

5. Seek opportunities to communicate


Seek out opportunities that require you to use communication skills. This
will help you keep good skills fresh while also allowing you the
opportunity to practice new skills.
