RUBRICS FOR FREE VERSE POETRY

Instructions: Create a free verse poem either in Tagalog or English language that tackles the topics discussed in finals. Make the poem you're submitting unique and meaningful.

Format: Legal-size paper with 1 inch margins. Utilize the 12-point Century Gothic font.

CRITERIA Excellent (15 – 20 pts)
Message The main idea of the poem
expresses emotions or
thoughts. The main idea of the
poem is clear and easily
identified.
Meaning Poem is creative and original.
It is evident that the poet put
thought into their words and
innovatively conveyed their
ideas and emotions.
Language and Word Choice Effectively uses vivid
vocabulary, unique details,
figurative language, and
sensory details to create tone
and meaning. Evokes a strong
response from the reader.
Conventions/Neatness Few minor errors, if any,
which do not detract from the
overall poem. Poem is typed
properly.
Good (10 – 14 pts)
