A NARRATIVE REPORT ON RE- ORIENTATION


ON EARLY LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND NUMERACY (DAP ELLN AND ELLN – D) FOR LAC LEADERS
AND KEY TEACHERS

Learning is a continuous process. In the context of the teachers, their learning journey will never reach its verge.
That is why seminars and trainings are initiated in the department to even more capacitate the pedagogues in order for
them to be effective in their teaching in the four walls classroom. These such errands in the department will edify the
potentials or skills of the teachers relative to pedagogical approaches. Most especially in this era, with the
advancement of technology teachers must be exposed to different technologies and online platforms that can be of
great help in the delivery of quality education. This will adhere to the interest of the learners in cyber or digital world
which most of them are tremendously interested, so teachers should take an advantage of it. Learning materials
wrapped or integrated with technology will entice the learners to be more engaging in the learning process. Remember
technologies are more alluring to the eyes of the learners than the dull books placed on the corner.

In connection, the district initiated a RE-ORIENTATION ON EARLY LANGUAGE, LITERACY AND


NUMERACY ( DAP ELLN AND ELLN –D) FOR LAC LEADERS AND K TO 3 TEACHERS. The District ELLN
Coordinator, Teacher Josephine F. Palma gave the participants an overview on how to conduct it. She vividly
elaborated about the self studied learning module /course ware and the role of the facilitators. The program has five
(5) modules with 15 sessions and it should be done by cluster. Everyone had the consensus that there should be a
synchronized schedules in conducting the program which will be in every first and last Friday of the month. It was
also agreed upon that each cluster must choose a facilitators to facilitate a particular module.

The program was graced by Dr. Emmanuel T. Cordora, amidst of his hectic schedule. He highlighted the
importance of the program and teachers should put in their heart because the outcome of this training will be
beneficial to the learners. He further elaborated, that this program was crafted as part of the recovery plan in
addressing the gaps and learning losses. To make it specific, he uttered the expected outputs such as reading
intervention materials to eradicate the reading problem spreading in school. Indeed, the program was successfully
done with the active collaboration of the participants.

Global landscape had been affected by the Covid- 19 pandemic. Education sector had been disturbed too.
Learning losses and reading problems have become rampant in the department as an inevitable effect of the pandemic.
The initiated program is timely and relevant to the needs of the learners. In this case, teachers must be equipped with
the necessary skills in their very convenient time using the self studied module/course ware. Freely and conveniently
teachers can now capacitate themselves and well updated with the teaching trends and strategy without leaving their
classroom and beloved learners. Talacogon East District says lets get Digital!
