Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to apply for the position of Investment Management Analyst – Global Sales and Marketing, recently
advertised on the Cass Careers vacancy board. I have enclosed a copy of my CV for your consideration.

Morgan Stanley’s leading position in the financial services industry has impressed me through its ability to conduct
high-profile deals such as the acquisition of Solium Capital for $900 million. In a period of volatility, Morgan Stanley
has maintained consistent performance with net revenues of $10.0 billion for the third quarter of 2019, compared
with $9.9 billion a year ago. The growth potential intrigues me because I believe it is important to invest my future
into a project that I trust and can immerse myself in entirety. In addition to this, Morgan Stanley prides itself in its
culture of collaboration between employees through its team-based environment, providing exposure to junior
members at very early stages of their career.

A career within Investment Management combines the complexity of bespoke client solutions alongside building a
strong networking relationship with colleagues to support Morgan Stanley’s efforts of delivering timely and accurate
client centric information. The high pressured, challenging nature of Investment Management will allow me to work
closely with the sales team to analyse Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and prepare detailed analysis in determining
opportunities for selling investment products. In addition to this, the five-week intensive training program will
provide the chance to exchange ideas and learn from colleagues, while polishing my knowledge of financial analysis
and markets. Furthermore, the opportunity to use my skills in econometric analysis, developed through studying
modules in Econometrics and Statistics in Finance to add value to clients is very appealing.

I am able to demonstrate the skills and the competencies required through my previous experiences in work and
academic studies. I strengthened my data analysis skills and financial acumen by examining Profit and Loss (P&L)
statements and balance sheets during my work experience at Kays Hotels Limited. I was tasked with conducting a
benchmarking exercise where I compared the performance of the business to comparable companies within the
vicinity. Additionally, presentation skills became of paramount importance during my university experience. I was
assigned a group project, to research the investment strategies of an American Investor, Bill Miller. I delegated
responsibility among the group and took it upon myself as an additional task, to take the responsibility of collating
information, filtering relevant data to complete the presentation in the given deadline. The findings had to be
presented to the class in a concise manner, with insights made about the data. As a result, I was able to build upon
my leadership and teamwork skills along with achieving a first-class score for the presentation. Furthermore, I
participated in an Amplify Trading Simulation, consisting of three 45-minute sessions, taking the role of a Hedge
Fund, Sales Trader and Market Maker. I challenged myself to better understand stock markets by examining market
data and investor recommendations to make informed investment decisions. This allowed me to fulfil my interests
in trading which stems from networking events and my knowledge in financial markets. As a result, I was able to
produce a 10% return on my portfolio. I look forward to using these skills to embark on a career in Investment
Management at Morgan Stanley.

I appreciate your time and consideration; please don’t hesitate to contact me should you require further
information.

Yours faithfully,

Hamza Saeed
