ACTIVITY 2

As discussed, the task of the teacher is to present the problem in the engaging way and to be able to
anticipate possible solutions from students. Do the following Practice these.

1. Browse the Deped Mathematics Curriculum Guide. Choose a topic From K to Grade 3. Write the
topic and Grade level below.

I chose Column Addition topic for Grade 3 level students, because this kind of problem I think they can
solve it easily.

2. Browse the Deped Mathematics teaching manual for the grade level you choce. Find a problem
from the chosen topic. Write the Problem below as how it is written in the teaching manual.

In this lesson, we will learn how to add large numbers using a fun, simple method called the column
addition method. Column addition is a way of combining things and counting them together as one large
group. Addition in math is a process of combining two or more numbers.

3. How would you Present your chosen problem in an engaging why? Put it in a situation where
the student can relate to. You may use your own experience too ( many time children are
interested in what’s happening to their teachers lives )! Imagine you are talking to your
students. Write your Script Below. If you Plan to use materials, write a note about it.
The first thing I will do is I’m going to ask my students or pupils to like this “Okay class are you
ready to our new activity?” Then after that I’m going to present my Visual aids on the black-
board the I’ll ask them if they’re familiar with the topic that I’m going to give. After that I’m
going to groupings my students into 3 to 5 students so that for each groupings I can give them a
problem about column addition. I will simple give them what I will have them to do and they will
be combine things that are only seen inside the class. So after they do that, I’ll check each one in
the group , then if something is wrong, of course I have to correct their mistake. As a teacher, I
also need them as a guide so I can check if they are doing right or wrong.

ACTIVITY 1
Answer the following questions to verbalize your understanding of the cycle.

1. In which stage/s of the teaching cycle are the The students involved? Explain
If the pupil isn’t engaged, you’re not actually teaching them anything. At the very least,
teaching is a relationship between a teacher and a learner. There is no teaching if there
is no learner in the equation. As a result, the student is participating at all times. If the
question really means “at what stages is the pupil active”, the answer will vary
depending on who answers.

2. Which Stage/s of the teaching cycle requires the teacher to reflect on teaching and
learning? Explain.

The most important stage, in my opinion, is ASSESS LEARNING AND REFLECT ON THE
RESULT, because at this stage you will know what students learned about your lesson
plan, if they understand the lesson, if students listen during the lesson, and if you are an
effective teacher and good teacher to your students.
