1 The Political Section  Review daily media reports and flag key stories. Jakarta
 Translate articles from local media sources for Political Section staff.
 Research on domestic politics and social developments.
 Attend and report in English on local events.
 Accompany Political Section staff to outside meetings and interpret as needed.
2 The Public Affairs The intern will create content for the Embassy’s various social media platforms. Products will Jakarta
Section include infographics, short videos, animation, and/or short write-ups for social media. The intern is
expected to have access to and be proficient with video editing and photo editing tools such as
Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Canva, etc.
3 The Cultural Affairs  In support of the youth outreach team, support logistical preparations for interviews, pre- Jakarta
Office departure orientations, and debriefings with groups of student exchange participants.
 Package photos, videos, and other materials to create social media posts and internal reports
highlighting American and Indonesian students’ exchange experiences.
 In support of the youth outreach team, using alumni database to create youth outreach strategies
nationwide to ensure geographical diversity.
 Assisting youth outreach and alumni team in preparing YSEALI Summit Indonesia 2023.
4 The Customer Service  Provide administrative support for check-in/checkout process of employees. Jakarta
Center (CSC)  Submit requests to internal service providers on behalf of customers.
 Liaise with vendors (First Media, Telkomsel, potable water, cooking gas) to resolve customers’
inquiries.
 Provide first tier IT support (mainly login issues and mobile device setup and support)
 Update the CSC Sharepoint/Extranet site, CSC Newcomer’s booklet, and other CSC
informational materials.
 Receive visitors to the CSC and answers general inquiries about procedures, regulations and post
policies. Answers phone calls and responds to incoming e-mails.
 Provide general administrative support for CSC.
5 Information System  To learn and explore ServiceNow platform and SharePoint system especially MS PowerApp. Jakarta
Center (ICS)  Working together to develop new applications using ServiceNow and SharePoint Platforms.
Development  To improve / create new banners and icons.

 Education background: Computer Science / Informatic Technique with focus study or interested
in Programming / Database / Multimedia
 Knowledge & Experience: Java & C# Programming, SQL database, and Graphical design
 Skills: HTML, CSS, JavaScript/JQuery/AJAX/JSON, C#, SQL, Adobe Photoshop
6 Public Affairs Section  Draft messages and schedule social media posting or email campaigns. Jakarta
(PAS)  Create graphics, edit videos and create video contents for social media posting.
 Assist with event logistics.
 Contribute creative and innovative ideas for upcoming events.
7 The U.S. Commercial  Market research on opportunities for U.S. companies. Jakarta
Service  Assistance with setting meetings up (done over the phone, by email or WhatsApp).
 Attending meetings with U.S. companies both inside and outside the embassy.
 Assistance with event planning and management.
 Administrative responsibilities to include copying, scanning, collating and escorting guests into
the embassy.
8 USAID/Indonesia -  Assist on EGE electronic filing. Jakarta
Economic Growth and  Assist on EGE communication material: intranet, factsheet.
Education (EGE) Office  Provide logistical and field support.
 Assist on collection of information/data or conducting research on topics as required by EGE
team.
 Attend weekly staff and other relevant meetings.
9 USAID - The  Help promote U.S. development programs in Indonesia through earned media (radio, TV, Jakara

10 USAID – Environment  Support the finalization of a new private-sector project on waste management by conducting Jakarta

 Liaise and support the Implementing Partner of new waste management, recycling, and ocean
plastic reduction project.
 Participate in potential site visits and government meetings to learn about USAID’s role as a
development partner.
 Participate in knowledge exchange events with other interns and other USAID development
professionals.
 Document and develop stories to highlight the impact of USAID’s solid waste program.

11 USAID - The Office of  Basic research on Indonesian legal issues (including labor and employment law, and other areas). Jakarta
the Resident Legal  Assistance formulating “brown bag” training for staff on various legal issues.
Officer (RLO)  Research on Indonesian law firms (for a possible Purchase Order for services).
 Research on Indonesian restrictions on international researchers, including Law No. 11/2019.
 Summarizing information regarding Indonesian court and legal processes.
 Summarizing information regarding Indonesian legislation including the Omnibus Law.
12 The USAID/Health  He/she will assist the USAID MCH and HSS Teams to work on M&E-related frameworks and Jakarta
Office (HEA) materials to guide and inform program implementation.
 He/she will support the planning, conduct and use of high-quality monitoring and evaluation by
USAID and partners to improve the effectiveness of USAID programs in achieving significant
development outcomes.
 He/she will work closely with the M&E Team of the Implementing Partners (IPs) to assure
clarity and synergy across efforts
13 The U.S. Consulate  Under guidance of the Consul and local staff, the intern performs online research and analysis Medan
on political and economic trends in the Consulate district, comprised of the 10 provinces on
Sumatra.
 Prepares brief written reports on issues and daily news summaries.
 Travels with the Consulate team throughout the district for meetings with official and civil
society leaders, serves as notetaker, and assists with informal interpretation as needed.
14 Political and Economic Responsible for assisting the Pol/Econ section of the U.S. Consulate General in Surabaya to organize Surabaya
(P/E) staff political and economic programs and meetings throughout the Consular district. The intern will
work with the Pol/Econ Assistants to collect data on economic and political conditions in eastern
Indonesia, support political and economic section meetings, draft press summaries on economic and
political topics, and engage in the conduct of economic and political outreach.
