Statement of Purpose: MSc Project Management

As a kid who gets bored easily from doing the same thing over again, I have always wanted
to work on new things and even completely opposite of what I had previously worked on. I
have always liked to be in places where things are organized or take charge and ensure that
things are organized. I have always wanted to take up challenging roles while thinking
outside the box and being self-sufficient. It was only a matter of time before I realized that all
that interests me while growing up, revolves around project managing resources and people
hence driving my choice of pursuing my Master’s degree in project management.

Basically, I have completed BSC (Hons) in Accounting from Federal University Dustin-ma
Katsina State, Nigeria and I have decided to do my post-graduate degree that is related to the
business sector because I believe that along with my current qualification and this MSC
Project Management course will help me to achieve my career goal.

I am applying to Robert Gordon University for Master’s Program in Project Management in

pursuit of a career. My quest for always learning, regularly refreshing my knowledge of
processes and structures, new markets, technology, products and services, and even
customers is my drive for pursuing a career in Project Management. Project management
would also allow me to make a difference by directly impacting on morale and organizations
bottom line.

Robert Gordon University has over 17000 students from over 132 countries and this enables
cultural integration as incoming students can settles in easily. The university's strong links
with the industry enable students to have access to practical and innovative learning
experiences including the opportunity to work on real-life client based projects and case
studies. The University is as well located in the safest city in the UK (Mercer Quality of
Living Rankings) Aberdeen and has a lot to offer from beaches to mountains, castles to
cinemas Aberdeen has it all. Students will find the city easy to navigate and the campus
conducive to study.

It has been noted that British scientists and institutions have won almost 100 Nobel Prizes
and Very few countries can claim that level of achievement. People who study art, fashion,
film, TV and video game design in the country are considered among the best in the world.
This means that the UK educational system has pride itself in building high-quality students
who are industrially focused employees, who have specific skill sets, including effective,
critical, and creative thinking skills. Every British university is recognized worldwide for
having creative and challenging environments that help their students push themselves to the
extreme. Their standards are incredibly high, and year after year, the universities are tested
for how well they are meeting modern challenges and I believe I stand to gain same
opportunity studying in the UK.

After completion of the master’s program, I plan to seek for job opportunities within and
outside UK, and apply my skills toward expanding organizations where I find myself beyond
their country/region. Specifically, we plan to develop markets in both Eastern and Western
Europe, and I feel that the knowledge and experience I gain in your master’s program will be
essential in helping me and any organization I find myself to expand and grow well into the
future.

I sincerely hope that the admission committee finds my profile well suited to the
requirements of the course and gives me a chance to be a part of the esteemed university.
