1. Cocaine – Class A
Short-term effects:

 Loss of appetite
 Quicker breathing
 Rise in body temperature
 Increase in heart rate
Long-term effects:

 Destroys nose tissue


 Respiratory issues
 Abscesses
 Infectious infections
Overdose possible effects:

 Convulsions
 Seizures
 Stroke
 Cerebral Hemorrhage
 Cardiac failure
Other effects:
 Users may behave weirdly, erratically, and violently at times.
 Strong psychological reliance, starvation, weight loss, confusion, apathy, and
a state close to paranoid psychosis 
2. Heroin – Class A
Short-term effects:

 Constricted pupils
 Nausea
 Vomiting
 Tiredness
 Inability to concentrate
 Apathy
Long-term effects:

 Severe weight loss


 Starvation
 Constipation
 Menstruation irregularity
 Drowsiness
 Chronic apathy
Overdose possible effects:

 Unconsciousness
 Death – due to respiratory depression
Other effects:

 Heroin has the potential to reduce stress, worry, and sadness, as well as physical misery 
or pain.
 Severe withdrawal symptoms, such as cramps, diarrhea, tremors, fear, runny nose, chills
, and sweating, occur when people abruptly stop using heroin
3. Ecstacy – Class A
Short-term use effects:

Long-term use effects:

- They become more gregarious and lively as a result of it. 
4. Methamphetamine – Class B
Short-term effects:
- Users tend to lose their appetite, start to breathe faster, and sweat due to
increased heart rate, blood pressure, and body temperature.
Long-term effects:

 Malnutrition
 Weight loss
 Psychological dependence
High dosages possible effects:

 Restless
 Irritable
 Panic attacks
 Convulsions
 Seizures
 Stroke or heart failure
 Death from respiratory failure
Other effects:
- Stopping its use results in a long period of sleep, followed by depression.
5. Cannabis – Class C
Short-term use effects:

 Increased appetite and pulse rate


 Impaired ability to accomplish physical and mental tasks
Other effects:
- Users report feeling relaxed and occasionally euphoric after using cannabis, as 
well as having an enhanced sense of sight, smell, taste, and hearing.
