Study Plan for Master Degree

My name is Ibritam Ekponoimo king and my Chinese name is Wang Yi

I’m a final year student of Shenyang University. I am expected to
graduate at the end of June 2017. I have seen the offer from the
department of Mechanical Engineering at Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang
City, Jiangsu Province, China and I am longing for my Master Degree
study in Vehicle Engineering there. After I finish my Master Degree
studies there, I want to go back to Nigeria to use the knowledge I will
acquire from Jiangsu University to add to the development of my
country.

Introduction of my background.

I was born on 6th June 1987, in Abak town of Akwa Ibom State of
Nigeria to the family of Dr. and Mrs King Sam Ibritam. In 2005—2007, I
was admitted to Bayelsa State College of Arts and Science, Nigeria to
study and obtain a National Diploma(ND) in Electrical/Electronics
Engineering Technology. In my ND graduation project, I designed and
constructed a Solar Battery Charger for Mobile Communicators. In
2008, I was employed as an internship student by Bayelsa State
Electricity Board and was posted to the Electrical gas turbine to work in
operation and generation department. From 2009—2011, I was
admitted into Institute of Management and Technology (IMT), Enugu
State, Nigeria to study and obtain a Higher National Diploma (HND) in
Electronics/Telecommunicating Engineering Technology. During my
HND graduation project work, I designed and constructed a car tracker
using a mobile network. In 2012, I was employed as a skill facilitator by
Peamav Global Limited (PGL). PGL is a skill acquisition school that
trains apprentice on different technical skills, examples Optical fibre,
Cosmetology, etc. From 2013—2014, I was employed by the Nigerian
National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and posted to teach Physics and
Basic Technology in high school, also a the Community Development
Service President assigned to Awka North, Anambra State, Nigeria. In
2014, I was admitted by Shenyang University, Shenyang, China to study
computer science. But because of my desire and interest in
communication and intelligence systems, I had to change my major to
communication Engineering. I am currently the Vice President of
Nigerian Students and the Publicity Minister of all the International
Students Union of Shenyang University.

Why do I choose to study in china

While I was doing my ND/HND project work, working with NGO and the
government of my country, I came across a lot of challenges. Some of
them I mention below.
1. Security :- Due to inadequate intelligence system to secure
vehicles, cases of stolen vehicles has been of increase. Vehicles
security has become a huge challenge for the government of
my country in recent years. Most times, it takes the security
agency a long time to discover the vehicle.

2. Auto crash: - Due to the shortage of vehicle Engineers, vehicles

are not properly maintain, because of this, thousands of people
lost their lives each year and millions of goods wasted as well.

China is well known all over the world in recently years as one of the
most developed countries in vehicle manufacturing and other field of
engineering and with a modern research facilities (equipment) in the
area of Automobile. A graduate of a school-level education in China
will no doubt benefit me a lot in my future career. This will give me an
opportunity for me to know, interact and learn more with experts in
intelligent part of Vehicle engineering; it will also make my research
work faster. China and Nigeria have a good cordial relationship
academically, business wise, etc. This was why china became my first
choice to further for researches

Why do I choose to study in Jiangsu University, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu

Province, China?

Jiangsu University, Jiangsu is one of the top universities in china and its
department of Mechanical engineering is one of the most top ranked
Mechanical Engineering departments as well. I’m so certain to get the
best from this department, studying in such a first-class department
have always my dream. I chose this department for its prestigious
professors, stimulating atmosphere and beautiful sceneries.

Detailed study plan

I will pursue my Master Degree in Mechanical Engineering in Jiangsu

University, Zhenjiang City, Jiangsu Province, China. The normal length of
study is about 36 months (3years). Throughout the period (3years) of
my Masters, my study and research will be focus on Vehicle
Engineering. The time arrangement of the Master Degree is listed below:

First Year (2017--2018),

I will like to put much of my effort of my first on studying core courses
and teaching. I will also attend seminars. I am ready to summit to any
professor that will be either assigned to me by the university or will
choose as my graduate research director. I will attend all the discussion
in his/her group. I will join a research group and do some preliminary
research. I will then finish my graduate research proposal under the
instruction of my research advisor. My graduation research proposal will
probably be related to my preliminary research. Towards the end of this
year, I will carry out my research plan, arrange detailed experiments,
analyse the results, modify the schemes with my group(s) and then
focus on my graduation research.

Second and third year (2018—2020)

I will focus mainly on my research work, carryout all the experiment

with the assistant of my research advisor. High quality research paper(s)
are expected to be published in international journals during this period.
Towards finishing most of my research work, I will focus on my
graduation dissertation and degree defense. I will also pay attention to
the Nigerian market as a researcher to see how best to impact my
country with my research work.

My plan after graduation

After my graduation, I plan to go back to my country to further carryout

my research work as a researcher and see use all the necessary means to
implement my research work. To further use it to improve the
technological knowledge in my country. Vehicle Engineering is a new
technology to the government of my country. This will really help boost
the Economy of my country. I believe my china education background
and connection in china would make me competent to find a job in my
country. I also hope to further go for my Ph.D. studies to improve my
knowledge to impact the younger generations.
