CHAPTER 4

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATTION OF DATA

This chapter deals with the presentation, analysis and interpretation of

data obtained from the respondents. The discussion of the problems are

presented in sequentially as follows:

PROBLEM 1. What is the profile of the dog owners in Emenville

subdivision in terms of: Age, Sex, Employment Status, Number of years as

a dog owner, Dog Breeds and the reasons of having a dog?

Data on the age distribution of Emenville subdivision dog owners showed


Out of a total of 50 responders, the age ranges of the majority were 18–22
(52%), and 38–42 (14%). The results showed that the majority of dog owners in
Emenville were between the ages of 18 and 22 followed by age, between 38 and
42. It demonstrates that students make up the majority of dog owners in the
Emenville subdivision.

According to the data, 19 respondents, or 38% of them, are men. 50

people in total, 31 or 62% of them were women. Results indicated that most of

the responses were mostly women. It was indicated that residents of Emenville

Subdivision's dog owners were mostly female in terms of numbers.

The graph 3 reveals that among the 50 responses, 64%, or 1-10 years, is

the biggest number of years as a dog owner in the residents of Emenville


Subdvision. Followed by 26%, or 11-20 years and 10% or 21-30 years as a dog

owner. These data shows that the majority of dog owners are competent handler

to their dogs.

Data 4 shows that 52% has a the most significant percentage. According to

research, most dog owners fell into the category of students. Consequently, 20%

of respondents who are unemployed. According to the survey, students make up

the majority of respondents in the Emenville Subdivision.

The data in Graph 5 shows the dog breeds. The data indicated that 35 or

47.95% of the respondents showed the highest percentage of dog breed that
they owned are Aspin (Asong Pinoy). And 14 or 19.18% has a Shih tzu, 7 or

9.59% Others, 4 or 5.48% Pomeranian, Golden retriever, Chihuahua and Bulldog

has the same percentage of 3 or 4.11%. and lastly is the Chow chow and

Labrador that has a lowest frequency of 2 or 2.74%. It demonstrates that mostly

of dog breeds that owners have in Emenville Subdivision are Aspin (Asong

Pinoy).

In Graph 6 the data demonstrate the reasons of having a dogs. The

statistics shows that the most high scored answer of the responses is the

companionship that average 38 or 38.88% and followed by 28 or 28.57% for

protection, 20 or 20.41% for family member wanted a dog, 6 or 6.12% for therapy

dog, 4 or 4.08% for exercise and lastly 2 or 2.04% for service dog. These facts

suggest that the main satisfaction for dog owners in Emenville Subdivision is a

desire for friendship.
