GRADE EXPLANATION

 The answer sheets also contain the progress till date. This is summarised in three
figures.

 TQTD (16.5%) indicates "Total Quality Points to Date (16.5% of evaluation

completed). This is the sum of the grade for the component multiplied by the
weightage for the component. So, if someone has got "C 2.50" in Quiz One
(weightage = 6.25%), and "D+ 1.75" in Quiz Two (weightage = 6.25%), and
“B+ 6.00” in the Project Part 1 (weightage = 4%) the TQTD is (.0625*2.50) +
(.0625*1.75) + (.04*6.00) = 0.506. The weightage for each quiz is 6.25%
because the best 4 out of 6 quizzes will be considered and the total weightage
for the Quiz component is 25%. In the above computation, the worst quiz has
already been eliminated – and the best 2 quizzes have been taken into account.

 QTD indicates Quality Point Index to date and is the quotient of the TQTD and
the percentage of evaluation completed. In the earlier example, QTD would be
0.506/. 165 = 3.06.

 LGTD indicates the Letter Grade to date and converts the QTD computed above
to the equivalent letter grade – as given in the Manual of Policies.
