Traditional Asean Theater Music

I.            Objectives

At the end of the period, the students must have:

 identified the distinguishing characteristics, elements and the instruments


that accompany the Indonesian Wayang Kulit,

 describe the particular story that was presented in Wayang Kulit, and

 performed Wayang Kulit.

Content Standards:

          The learners demonstrate understanding of Traditional Asean Theater Music


particularly Indonesia’s Wayang Kulit.

Learning Competency

          The learners perform shadow plays especially Mahabharata and Ramayana.

          Activity

The teacher will conduct a mini-game where in, the teacher will show
pictures to the class. Each group of pictures have an incomplete word below
and the students will guess what that word is.

Analysis

The teacher will gather all the words and let the class guess what
their topic for the day will be.

Abstract

Using the PowerPoint Presentation, the teacher will discuss about


Wayang Kulit and will show pictures for better understanding. The teacher
will also show some video related to the topic.

Application

The teacher will ask random questions to the students for review
before she will conduct a short quiz.

IV.         Evaluation

Using the Quizizz mobile application, the teacher will conduct a short quiz for
the students.

V.           Assignment

The teacher will let the students group themselves. Each group should have
at least two to three (2-3) members. Those students who live in far places may ask
help from their family or friends for assistance. Each group of students will create
puppets, and use the puppets they created as they perform a shadow play while
recording a video. The teacher will allow the students to choose between the two
Indian epics Mahabharata and Ramayana. The students shall add music background
to make their shadow play interesting and entertaining. The teacher will provide a
rubric for their performance.
